What would it take
 

What mods would it take to beat a stock 1988 Camero 305 with an automatic and 190,000miles with a 1994 V6 5 speed.

Gears, exhaust and a few bolt ons would make it pretty close.

Right now I have 3.73's, mac off road h-pipe, 2-chamber flowmasters, mac underdrive pullies, cold air induction, and Steeda Tri-ax short throw. MY car is a little heavy though because I have a q-logic box with 2-12's in the trunk.
I want to beat my neighbor because the boy talks smack.

Damn it sounds like it might be pretty freakin' close. I don't know much about stereo equipment but maybe you could disconnect the 12's and the q-logic box, take e'm out and then race him. But then again i don't know much about stereo's would that be to complicated? but even with that extra weight you might still be able to beat him. Good look, and may the force be with you. :cool:

Get rid of the stereo equip. for the race. That stuff can weigh alot. Even with it, I think your chances are very good. Dark is right, those Camaro's are turds :p I work with a guy who has an early 90's RS with a 305. It's an auto with 160,xxx miles. The thing is so slow I almost feel bad for him :D

I have a full bottle and a "Not being used" 70-100hp NOS kit. Boy if you were close to here, 1 hours time, you would definitly kill him.

if you want any idea of how slow those are i raped one back in the day when i had my 94 gs eclipse....non turbo....im talkin like 3 or 4 cars....maybe my buddies car was just sick...or well yeah they are all sick:eek:

He stops by talks trash, says that year has 275 hp stock. I ask him to race he keeps making up excuses. I will try and get him to run me once it stops raining here.

:p 275??!! That's funny. My sister used to have an '89 RS with the 305. They only come with 175hp. Your neighbor was only off by a 100 horsepower. :rolleyes: I think you will take him.

Reminds me of the time I raced an late model GTA on the highway with my SHO. Up to around 120 I had a good 7 cars on him:D Win or Lose, it would still be a good race.

When you race him, make sure your foot doesn't slip off the gas from laughing :p Although, even if it did, I think you'd still win :D
