Post New times with E.T. Streets

I put on a set of 28x11.50 ET streets and was hoping for a near 10 second timeslip. Here is what happened:

About 80-85 degrees and fighting off rain. I set the timing at 16 degrees, aired the tires to 15 psi, and dropped the clutch at 4 grand. It felt like crap the whole way down, and spun hard on the launch.

13.3 @ 101 mph!!! WTF!! I open the hood to find my spout connecter on the radiator. Oops. I put it back in and drop the tires to 13 psi.

I burnout, launch at 4 grand, spin again, and run 12.85 @ 107.5 with a 1.85 60 ft. Getting better, but the mph is low and the tires are still spinning too much.

Next run I air down to 11 psi, launch at 4K, PULL A TIRE FOR THE FIRST TIME! and run a 12.70 @ 107.05, with a 1.78 60 ft. The traction is coming around, but the MPH is still a tad low. I figure a hookin' tire will sap a couple mph, but it feels a little soggy.

Next run the bottle goes in and I air down to 10 psi. Burnout, stage, and drop the hammer at 5 grand. BOOM! BOTH TIRES SEE DAYLIGHT! and I am powershifting on the spray down the track. I get my slip and see a good time, 11.62 with a 1.65 60 ft, but my mph is still down. 116.25. I usually trap 121-123 here, and 125 at Lapeer.

Hmmmm..... I let it cool down and pull the plugs. To my suprise the number 8 plug had no electrode! It was a melted glob at the end of the plug!

The night before I wanted to "test out" the E.T.'s and went out to Gratiot. I was running pretty warm, (around 200 degrees) and raced a couple sportbikes from a real slow 1st gear roll. I heard a slight pop ocassionally later that night, but did not pay too much attention to it.

I changed the plugs as it started to rain briefly. I am ready to have another go, and just as the track is almost dry the rain comes down in sheets.

I have to drive 30 mph nearly the whole way home (100 miles) in the rain, and on E.T. Streets.
