I agree with Unit5302 on this one. The 85-86's wouldn't see 14.4 bone stock. They don't have that kind of power. At best 14.6 as I stated earlier my friend's car ran 14.7 and he's a very experienced driver. I remember trying to race my brother in his 88 LX and sure, out of the hole we'd side by side (while we were both spinning) but second gear came along, and he was gone...Stock vs. Stock that is...

Regarding my friend's SVT Contour, he got it back from the SHO Shop last week. After tuning and upping the boost to 10 lbs., it is reported to make 295 hp and 238 lbs of torque at the wheels. Of course, I'm always a little skeptical of claimed hp numbers.

Whether the hp numbers are real or not, well, the drag strip doesn't lie. We'll be testing it later this month.

My friend has an 85GT (carb). All I had done to my 87 GT (at the time) was BBK shorty headers, off-road H, and catback. We were dead even until about 45-50 then I started to walk past him. He whines that he had more gas than me, but I had a passenger.
