What's Your Opinion???
I own a 1991 LX 5.0. I want the car to run 12s on the STOCK motor. Currently the car has gone 13.72, and weighs 3208 with me (200lbs) in it. This is done with steel hood and hatch, and I plan on moving the battery back soon. My 60fts are 1.9x and I know that with a 4000-4500 launch the car should run 1.8 or better. The suspension is stock except for a removed sway bar and lakewood shocks. My plans are Bigs and Littles, Fiberglass components, Headers and an H-pipe (still stock now), and suspension mods. Since the last run (13.72) I have added an aluminum drive shaft, and removed the A/C compressor. I'm almost possitive that @ Englishtown in 60-70 degree temps the car should go 13.5 or better. Another goal is to beat my friends '00 LS1 SS, which has gone 13.2. Do you guys think that this is possible or am I dreaming?

Yes 13.2 can be easily done with the right components. What are all of your mod's?
------------------ -1989 GT, not stock. -2000 Camaro SS-A4, 13.4's bone stock. -1989 Chevy S-10, EX. Cab-383(500+hp on motor), tubbed, trick flow heads, trick flow pistons, etc... autometer phantom gauges, "built" 700R4, roll cage, lexan back window, corbeau seats, R.H.S. 5 harnesses, Fuel cell, convo pro wheels, 15x14's with 29x18.5 M/T'S on back, 15x4's on front, nitrous, and so much more! |

Add in underdrives, electric fans, G3 alternator (to keep from discharging), cold air induction, ice the intake, some 4.10's or lower gears, to your full drag suspension plans and lightening of the car and it should be able to get you damn close if not into the 12's.
Basically, you'll need about everything to get a bone stock engined 5.0 into the 12's. |

Every Single Mod Is:
-Mac Cat-back -K&N panel filter -Pro 5.0 Shifter -FRPP 3.73 gears -FRPP aluminum Drive Shaft -Aluminum Underdrive Pulleys -Lakewood Shocks -Subframe Connectors The car went from a 13.93 to a 13.72 just by changing the timing a few degrees. It seems that the little things go a long way. |

Any 26" sticky tire, 70/30 struts, eibach launch kit, SSM lift bars, remove front sway-bar, headers, h-pipe. You will have a 13.0 car. Oh, and shift at no more than 5300. Dont go by the stock tack, its soooo wrong!
