who's been to Ls1.com?
Reason is because, in their kill section some guy has a video posted with him and his friend racing his Z against a SS on the highway i would guess, it's a cool vid for anyone that loves cars and racing like me , rather it be ford or chevy...ect.. that guys car catapolted to 145 pretty quick, my car would be a memory to something with top end like that.
I would put it up here but dont remeber how? ------------------ 90 lx coupe: Mac cold air fenderwell, accel supercoil, advncd ignition,3-core radiatr, FMS alum D/S, Black magic fan, 3.27grs, 3chbr flows. yeah thats a pretty cool clip.
i'm assuming that the car was an f-body, but what year? those damn SS are ruthless, so if the other car is an f-bod, i'd like to what year and what mods. Mustangworks is my primary site but i'm also a member (with same name-fixer) on: camaroz28.com ls1.com corral.net stangnet.com tundrasolutions.com tacomaterritory.com f150online.com blueovalnews.com flatratetech.com freerepublic.com honda.com (yes even honda; i have a whopping 3 posts) after watching the clip a few more times: that guy absolutely lambasted that poor SS. I'd be looking for my money back! [This message has been edited by fixer (edited 01-06-2001).] |

I wouldnt be so sure that the other car was a 8 cyl, he did leave him so fast, it always looks like people are racing on the same bridge- like in Lexus catchup.mpg |

Yea i didnt even see the front of that SS dippin or bouncing, a modded cobra or fox body would probaly be bouncing and swaying side to side in pure acceleration, while bangin gears.

saw the clip, pretty good rice, but i might have to question the actual speed, most any car that has mods will have changed the gears in the rear, so its likely his speedo is off, but i dont know, those cars might have electronic speedos and be really easy to adjust

I go there quite often as well. As is the case with a lot of sites some guys are cool and know what the he11 they are talking about and some guys are full of shlt! The good with the bad.
They seem to have many more posts compared with this site, but don't get me wrong Mustangworks is my favorite car site!! Keep up the good work Dan. This is a good website, I have a Z28 but I still like Mustangs. They are some people at ls1.com that are stupid so don't pay to much attention to them.

I go there and bullshit sometimes. Its a good site. A lot of people there realy underestimate the 5.0 though and most of them dont even recognize the 4.6. That car was real quick but are you sure the SS was racing too?

By the way....I think the video car was a Pontiac Fcar. The dash backlight was red and the rear spoiler looked weird to be a Z spoiler. Nevertheless awesome clip. From nailing it inside an LS1 I can tell you that the engine sound was a lot louder in that car than in mine. I would think he probabbly has a cutout or straigth pipe through headers with no cats. Still, stock SS, and Zs (regardless of what the brochures say) have about 340 at the engine (dyno about 290 at the wheels) so this guy with the extra weight of a passanger must be putting about 370 to the ground to be able to just pull away from an SS like that.
White5.0: The LS1 (and I believe also LT1) speedos can be controlled through a little computer called the Power Programmer. Whenever you change gears, tire/rim sizes, you just plug it in the port under the steering wheel and you can change the speedo there.
