The same underrated LS1 they have since '98.

It should make 325 FWHP, but my brothers '98 Z28 makes 310 RWHP and runs the 1/4 with good traction at 13.8 @107 STOCK.

That SS should be the same, GM labeled them at 305, 310, and 325 over the years, but some really make that rear wheel. I'm surprised you kept up.
