Supposedly, he ran the 12.4 after the magazine went into print. They even mention in the article (pg. 52) that both 12.6 runs were made in a headwind and the car may go 12.50s or more under the right conditions on stock tires.
Besides, it's just a rumor. Track/dyno numbers are virtually meaningless until actual production vehicles are released.
