03 Cobra makes 400 rwhp and runs 11's!!
 

Got my new 5.0 mag today and opened it up to see a bolt on drag test of a 03 Mineral Grey Cobra. They baselined it and it made 360 rwhp and 358 lb-ft of torque!! Not too shabby. With a 2.5-inch Bassani cat-back, it made 371 rwhp and 362 lb-ft. With a catted X-Pipe, the Cobra made 378 rwhp and 374 lb-ft of torque. When they removed the airbox and put a K&N on, the power jumped to 400.0 rwhp and 383.1 lb-ft of torque :eek: Wth just exhaust and an air filter, the Cobra was at 400 hp at the wheels.

On the drag strip, a set of M/T ET Drags were bolted on, and the Cobra ran a best of 11.95@116.27 mph.

Yep, a Mustang that produces 400 rwhp and 11 sec 1/4 mile passes with just exhaust and an air filter!!! Plus it has a factory warranty!!! Start saving your $$$$

That is sweeet. I wish I had money to finish my car, let alone buy a new Cobra. I'm in major debt so all my money goes to pay off my car and loads. :( But I still love her. :D

MM&FF got 381 rwhp with no mods. They say thier test car makes in the neighborhood of 425 bhp stock.

Wow. That is some crazy stuff. 2 guys in the SDMC are getting convertibles. One already has his and another i think will be soon.

I wish i could afford one of those.

He is correct. Everyone else that tested the car got around 385 bhp and 280 btq. The car was supposed to be 390 bhp and 390 btq. After changing the filter, the car jumps up 13 hp, and 8 tq. Imagine changing the exaust, filter, and the boost of the blower. I can see 450bhp and 450 btq easly in the picture.

That sounds pretty awesome. That is a pretty huge gain from just a K&N swap though. Not sure if I would want one though. Unless it was for a daily driver or something like that. You can alot faster than 11.95 with 35,000 dollars put into a car.

Yea, you could. But, to be that fast with the refinement of a brand new car and have a factory warranty.....seems like a pretty good deal to me.

At the track I saw one going 13.0@110 yesturday.

He was icing the intake and all kinds of ****.

I saw one at Norwalk yesterday run a 13.4@109. The weather wasn't all that good though.

In australia their cobras make something like 420 HP and 430 Ft Lbs of torque off the showroom floor.

My friend just "played" in his Superformance 393ci Cobra, against a 2003 Cobra...
He said they were swapping places, depending on when each one shifted. Pretty dead even he said.
