Default Is it just me? Pop ups

Or is everyone getting 5 pop ups everytime they load a new page

As if this site wasnt slow enough.

30 seconds for the page to load with a high speed cable connection and then I have to close 4-5 pop ups everytime I load a page.

It is so much work to navigate this site it almost isnt worth it

/raises hand/ Me Three!

Pop-ups have become really annoying. A couple here and there can be tolerated but I'm getting SEVERAL with every page load. Also, getting the 'page cannot be found' error too. I really like this site, but I'm find myself visiting less and less...

Hmmm. Well, I don't have that problem at all....... that's b/c I have a pop-up blocker. When I turn it off, though, I see all the stuff popping up.

There's a free one that you can download from Google. They have the best search engine I know about right now, so I assume their pop-up blocker is worth something. Try it out....

Pop-ups suck! I have a blocker too, but I hear the noise of it blocking them and it does seem to be alot. I really hate the new kind on other pages, like msn.com, that are like a Java and they have sound, but the pop-up blockers don't stop them.

Joe, that red type in your sig is hurting my eyes. Tough to see it on the gray background.

I agree that there have been alot of pop-ups lately. The speed of the site seems to vary for me. Some days, it's quick and the pages load without any hassles....but other days, I get 'page cannot be found' messages and it feels like I'm on dial-up.

Regarding pop-ups, does anyone else think it's ironic that there are pop-up windows advertising a pop-up blocker?

One more thing, ever since I switched my service to Comcast a few months ago, I seem to get ALOT more pop-ups than I used to. If I leave my computer on for a half hour, I come back to 20-25 pop-up windows. My computer has froze many times because of this.

I usually get only 1 pop-up when I log on. That flying eBay thing was about as irritating as pop-ups go. This time I got 3. Seems everytime today, I get one each time I click on something.

The advertisers don't make a dime off of me. When I want something, I'll go searching for it. Just like telemarketers, I never purchase from them.

Slow loading, and "cannot be found" is happening quite a bit lately.
"The page cannot be displayed" came up 3 times while trying to submit this post. Hope we don't get duplicate posts, if so, sorry!

I realize this site can use the income from the ads, but.......

EDIT: It's a fact: each time I click to a different link now, I get a pop-up. Spending too much time deleting them... Later guys.

Google tool bar Pop-up blocker works pretty darn good. I only get one here, every once in a while.

The pop-ups should be seriously reduced now. We had added a secondary ad company to deliver left over ads on the site, but they are delivering way to many pop-ups for my tastes also... So, I deactivated those ads.

Yeah, there is a lot of useless "software" around the web that will install spyware and adware on your system when you install it. A great piece of software is "Ad-Ware" by Lavasoft. It will scan your registry and all the files on your computer and remove all the spyware/ad-ware that's been installed on your system. You can download the standard edition for free.

Also, if anyones using netscape , we just noticed that it has a pop up blocker built in, since we activated it, pop ups are a thing of the past. (the pop up manager feature is listed under "tools" tab)

Hope it helps,
J
