1000 posts on dial-up = long time!

No real point to this thread, just thought I'd put my 1000th post as a new thread instead of in someone else's thread. This way, it wastes EVEN more space :D

It doesn't seem like I've posted 1000 times already, I wish there was an option to where we can go back and see EVERY post we ever made, or thread that we started. I know we can see back to a certain time, but I wanna see what my VERY FIRST post was. It was probably some dumb question asking about changing oil or wiper blades :)

Actually I do know one of my first few posts was asking about the AOD to T-5 swap, which it took me about 2 years after that to finally do it, but I did it and without this site, there's no way I could have done it. I've learned so much more than I ever thought I would. I've also met some good friends on here, actually a good friend told me about the site and got me started here (302man), thanks Tim, by the way my car WILL eventually be faster than yours :)

To the ones who have helped me through all the problems I've had, I just want to say thank you. I feel as though I know you all even though most of you live atleast 3-4 states away.

ok, I'll stop taking up space now, see ya'll later

I'm hoping to get to a grand in a month or so

Congrats! I was pretty excited when I hit a grand too! :)

Hey we both got on here in feb of 2000. I know how long it takes with a dang dial up. That is all i ever had. I hope i can get a dsl or cable in Kansas.

I can't even imagine navigating a message board with a dial up. I would probably give up. You guys deserve a special award or something!

I don't know off the top how many posts I've got (I don't feel like checking), but it's around 2400, I think. That is alot of posts. In some ways, that number doesn't seem possible, but then again, I feel like I've been involved with a hundred or more multiple post threads trying to walk someone through a problem. Funny thing is I actually feel that I don't reply very often at all. There are a dozen or more times each time I come here that I don't reply when I do have a comment in mind. Those are usually opinions, though, which I've found are often best kept to myself. ;)

Reward your new found status with a DSL setup!

Take care,
-Chris

98% of my posts are from dial up.

Just recently got DSL at work.

Almost all of my posts are from dial-up as well. Not only that, but dial-up from the middle of no-where over about 20 miles of a single phone line before it gets to a switch box. Oh, and most of it was free service (remember the days of NetZero and BlueLight?) where they kick you off every 5 minutes or so.

I spent one summer living on campus at Texas Tech with OC3 lines to every appartment. Damn! That was incredible! Now I'm back to the good ol' dial-up, but at least I'm only about 1 mile away from the server I dial into.

Congrats! I got to 500 posts really quickly but I've been lately with life. I havn't had much time to get on the site as much as I would like too but I always find time.

I'm slowly working my way to 1,000....it's probably be another 6 months before i hit it, i can't imagine having to go through dialup though, that has to be aggrivatingly slow.
