Default 2005 Mustang

My first car was a 69 Mach 1, I have also owned an 89Gt. Had a couple GTO's and a bunch of other cars too. The new Mustang is so good looking and fast too. I know I probably won't like the seats but they can be changed. Anyway if I decide to buy a new performance car this year, the choice will be simple. The new GTO ain't bad, but it isn't a drag racer.

The way I see it any American car is cool by me.

But with that said.

I drove around a track in a new GTO. Not sure what the HP was, (We didn't get on it anyway) but I was NOT very impressed with quality.

I think the GTO looks like a cavalier, ugg. The inside had some neat looking features but it was all tooooo plasticy, flimsy and had a el cheapo feel to it. Pontiac struck out with this one. Altough it may haul a$$.

And at $32k I can't run away from it fast enough.

How about a Chevy Cobalt SS? LMAO.

I think the Mustang is the only new performance car worth its price. It will stomp GTO out of production in a couple of years anyway.

The more I look at different pics/versions of the new Mustang platform, the more and more I like it.

The BFgoodrich ad with Big Daddy's DR car and the blue '05... awesome. I saw the factory Ford "boy racer" '05, white w/ blue racing stripes.... Steeda's version... I like em all.

GTO has 350 hp, and about the same tq, but runs a 14.5 QTR-WTF

Mustang all the way.

Default GTO

They are upping the GTO to 400hp and changing the looks to make it look more like it use to, the SSR is already 390hp up from 300. Problem is they are both too heavy. I dont think the interior of the GTO looks any cheaper than a Mustang.

The V6 is almost as big in displacement as the V8. The V8 might be as light as the V6 though, since it has aluminum block. But for the purchase price difference and insurance the V6 might be a better deal. Are they still putting the smaller rearend with the V6? It is very easy to bump the V6 over 300hp.

Just read the Musclemustangs article it had much more info than the Ford website. The V6 gets the 7.5 rear the V8 gets an improved 8.8. They say the 05 is better in every dynamic way than the older Mustangs.

There was a red one with red leather, V6 here in town, I saw it at the dealership, I took my wife out to the dealership the next day to see it and it was GONE!! She wants a black one anyway.
