8 hours with a F150
No point to this post just some observations
Had to go on a business trip Monday and went to my normal rent car place. They did not have any cars!! They had a new maroon F150 so I took it. About 9K miles on it, 4 door, kind of sporty looking. Had to drive about 4 hours (in Texas that's not very far) fo a meeting the next day and back. It had the 5.6 V8 and I was pretty impressed with the trucks ability to get to 70 mph in no time. I am sure it will beat my 3.8 Stang. But it did sip mightily from the old gas pump at 25 gals per fillup. Handling was great but still pretty much rode like a truck. Tearing out of those toll gates on loop 8 in Houston it was apparent this 2004 could take a Grand Am or like Vehicle no problem. If you can put a 5.6 in a Mustang that would probably be pretty interesting. I guess it would be about a 350 ci huh? Sometimes when you drive a car you tend to see a lot of other cars like the one you are driving. I started to notice F150's and I believe there are a lot more appearance options than with Mustangs and probably a lot of aftermarket mods etc. for the vehicles. At least here there are a lot of F150's compared to Toyota's, etc. I like that. |
As an owner of a new 2004 F-150 I can attest to how nice these trucks really are. Ford did one heck of a job!
One things to clarify though: The larger V8 in the new F-150 is a 5.4L (330 cu. in.) 3 valve (2 intake, 1 exhaust), not a 5.6L Glad you enjoyed the truck. E |

I bet it was kinda hard to give back the F-150. ;) |
There is a reason why the F-150 is the best selling car in the WORLD. lol
