![]() I just raced a 92 with the 305, and all I can say is SLOW. I would guess that it would be in the 17's

![]() Stock, the 305 is SLOW. However there is a good aftermarket for it. But assuming its stockish, a 88 GT should walk all over it.

![]() there will be obviously a large variance.
i can tell you this though. my friend had a 25anniv (92 i think?) camaro with a 305 and he ran like 17.x@76 (i forgot, it has been a while) that is so slow! another kid has a 91 firebird with 190k on it (the rs only had like 70k!) and my friend can take him by a nose in his 96 jeep cherokee with a 5.2L, fulltime 4wd, 4500odd pounds. it runs 17s. ![]() |

![]() Need more info, was it a 305 TBI? or a 305 TPI? TBI was rated @ 170HP the TPI was rated @ 220HP and the 5.7 @ 240HP. my 90' 5.7 ran 14.27 @ 96+ stock, and with bolt ons it went 13.4 @ 102MPH on drag radials, it had stock 327 gears, and a stock 1800 converter, no motor work at all, but had headers, cats removed, Flowmaster, cold air induction, pullys,Welds up front 205-65-15's,ETC, the basic stuff!! my buddys 5.0 TPI, auto ran 13.9's with bolt ons and 373's. TBI's more like high 15's or low 16's, I had one it ran high 15's and it was an automatic, the only mods were: ADS superchip, cat removed and a Flowmaster 2 chamber muffler, hope this helps.

![]() I would give it mid 14's! just a guess, every car seems to be a little different, but I would say 14.5 ish @ 94 ish MPH, if its a stick it could be low 14's and add about 2 MPH to that, this would also be in good weather, hot would be 3-4 tenths slower and a couple of MPH slower, had another friend that had a T/A 5.0 TPI with 342's and bolt ons it ran 14.4 on a good day. hope this helps.

![]() its a vert, and auto, so its not going to be that fast. I had a friend with a T-top TPI with an AUTO that was stock w/ high miles and it ran high 15's/low 16's. It ran preety close to a 68 289 stang with exhaust and a C4.

![]() I would have to agree on the high 15's low 16's. Mine was an '88 t-top Formula w/auto and bone stock 305. It was low miles and in great shape. Going by SOP, the stang is quicker after about 2nd gear. The Firebird was good out of the hole but lost it quick. I never had a chance to do them side by side and never had it at the track.
