'94-'98 body style VS '99+
I'd love to know what you pony drivin' fanatics prefer as far as the mustangs' body style over the last 6 or 7 years. I personaly, prefer the '94 to '98 body style as opposed to the redesign in '99. Don't get me wrong, the new style is nice. But the "retro" looking sharp curves and the square demensions don't let it look as much like a "musclecar" as it could look.
You can still pick out a Mustang from any other car on the road like you always have, and the GT's and Cobra's still look mean. But I'd love to see the Mustang go back to something closer to the 98's. (Opinions and/or verbal abuse accepted) (But I must say, the '01 Cobra R is deffinately the meanest looking machine on the road.) |

I agree Tod...
I like the rounded lines of my 98 more than the newer models.... I just wish I had their power stock... ------------------ "The Yellowjacket" 1998 Mustang GT 13.97@103 "Hey, you weren't supposed to be that fast!"- Turbo Eclipse Driver |

I guess i'm biased because I drive a 96GT but I prefer the 94-98 over the 99 and up. I could not stand the new body style when I first saw pictures. After seeing one in person I hated it a little less. The more I saw them the more I liked them - they really grow on you. That being said, I still prefer the 94-98's (though the 01's with the torq thrust rims and the more aggressive hoods and spoilers look kick*ss).

I am with you guys too. Granted I drive a 98 but. Even when I was still driving an S-10 I like the 94-98 body style. Whats in the past is history leave it there. That along with those a$$ looking new wheels. Leave them on a 70s mustang and we are all good.
How bout that new thunderbird, ouch if you want an old car go buy one. Don't buy a new one that looks somewhat like an old one. Oh well I guess I have no say in it lol. I just had to vent about that hehe. I am also with you hammer I wish I was making 260 stock hp. That would be phat. Thats about the only good thing I see about the newer body style. ------------------ My 98 yellow stang Mods: Magnaflow cat-back |

I would have to say the opposite. I love the 99 and up Mustangs. All lusts from the SN95 Mustangs died when I first saw a 99. I only thought that an eibach kit was needed. I still like the SN95's... I see a lot of them in my reiwview mirror! (just jokin!)
If you wanna see a nice 99, check out my web page! Maybe you might like them a little more! http://hometown.aol.com/redlilpony/Homepage.html ------------------ Jodi AKA PonyGirl Red 68 GT Fastback Black 99 GT Coupe "Not your average Mustangs..." |

No question, the new stangs look even better than the SN95's. They are definately more aggressive looking, which is super nice.
The SN95's look better than the fox's most of the time, but they are a little to rounded for my taste. |

I also prefer the look of 99+, specially with the new steeda body kits http://www.steeda.com/-vehicles/00mustanggt.htm
Only one thing, the new stangs definetly need a lowering spring kit... it's horable how much of gap there is between the wheel and body. |

I like my fox body best! oops sorry only last 6 years huh?? : My boss has a 97-98 and while it is nice i have seen a few 99-2000 and i like the aggressive lines, I especially like the look from the rear. Wheels can be changed easy and i also agree that they need to be lowered a bit, kinda highriding.

Both Look good, but i prefer the 99-01 Body style, plus their alot faster then the 94-98s which were a kinda slow era for the mustang.

I love them both, when looking at a cobra I always wanted a 98 but found a 99 used with only 1800 miles. needless to say I went with that...as time goes on I like the 99+ more and more

My $.02.
I am very baised. I have 2 cars in my garage and love them both, but in seperate ways. One has the power and the other, the refinement. The only thing the 99-01 needs is me behind the wheel. The downside to the SN-95 is that huge rear fender. It makes the rear tire look like a toy tire. Other than that, they all look good to me. But then again, I'm just one guy, what do I know? I like the 94/95 body style the best. (I like the rear tail lights better and the clock on the dash, ya I know it's beening picky). I also like the 302 powerplant (although this has nothing to do with looks). I didn't like the 99's at first but the 01's are growing on me with those aggressive hood and side scoops. Saw a really beautiful yellow '01 GT at the local ford dealer, but I still love my 95 too much to think about trading yet.

I've owned a 95GT and now have a 99GT. I really miss the 95 but as far as looks and performance go, the 99 has really grown on me. I wouldn't switch back to the 94-98 body style.

The 99-01 bodies kick a** over the 94-98 bodies.especially the headlights.
The SN95's were way to rounded for a mustang plus the rear tires were tucked way inside the fenders compared to a 99-01 body. You gotta love the new more aggresive look. |

nothing against the mod motor, it's rowdy, but i would want a 99-00 gt with a 347-or 351 with longtubes and all the goodies (dreamin here), im just a pushrod fan, but the tailights look cool on the newer stangs, but i cant make up my mind.

In Stock for stock form, I would have to say it is a tie between the SN-95's and the 99&00 GT's. Although I think the 01 GT's look better than both of them.
Back to the 94-98 and 99-00 GT's. While I like modified SN-95's, I think the 99&00 GT's look simply AWESOME with certain body kits(Saleen, Steeda, and the Cobra R come to mind). 98 Yellow Stang... I don't know if you've seen the new Thunderbird in person, but I did and the car looks gorgeous. I think its a pretty sweet looking car Because of the blend of modern and retro styling. Not trying to flame ya cause your opinion is your opinion, but they do look great in person. Of course nothing to trade the stang for though! ! ------------------ 1991 GT, AOD, Moroso Cold Air, 3.73s, March pulleys, 3-chamber(the left one fell off-NO time+No Money=College), FMS c-springs, and KYBs |
