Help: want to replace antenna and add chrome exhaust tip to an '03!
Hello!
Of course, any first post is always asking for advice. I've got a brand new '03 Mustang, just a normal v6 (http://dmbnethypermart.net/mustang.jpg) and I'd like to change two things about it. 1. The exhaust pipe looks like the shoddiest piece of tin I've ever seen. I think it totally ruins the back of the car! Where can I get a nice chrome tip to put on over it (not to change the sound of the exhaust, just the appearence)? 2. The antenna is just too large. I'd really like to replace it, if I can, with a smaller, higher powered antenna. Has anyone done this or know where I can get such a product? I'm not even sure it exists! I installed automatic headlights myself (without connecting the daytime running lights, a totally annoying feature) and am very happy with that. I've also put in a Sony Ericsson Bluetooth car kit to use with my t616 cell phone. If anyone is curious, I wired the ignition sense into the radio and placed the remote on my by right food on the side of the console, out of view. It's fantastic! You get in the car with the phone in your pocket and, viola, it's connected. Anyway, thanks in advance for any help! Jordan Shapiro |

1. Youshould just be able to go to your local muffler ship and get a tip welded in. That would be the best way to go, IMO.
2. Not sure what to tell you on this one. I'd start with an aftermarket place and see what is out there. OH, BTW, Welcome to Mustang Works. |

oh, i would link you right to the article but mustangworld is down now for some reason, hopefully its up when you triy it. just select the how to section from the top and look for the antenna one.

Welcome to the site.
I'm sure you know you'd have gotten stainless steel if you'd bought a v8.

I would not put a chrome tip on there, it will look like rice, all the ones I've seen on V6 mustangs look like crap. I fixed my girlfriends V6 by cutting the tip of before the axle and then welding a turndown so that the exhaust doesn't hit the axle, you may notice the exhaust being a little louder but that is just because it exits up closer to you. This way you won't see any tip, just as the V6 mustang bumper was meant to be.

Putting chrome on your tips is not a good idea. If I was you I would just get a dual exhaust system with a GT bumper. I have a rubber antena on my stang. It's about 1.5 foot long and it's sporty looking. I have one if you want to buy it. $20

No tip
A chrome tip on a sixer is super cheesy. People shake their heads sadly when they see a stock exhaust leading to a big chrome tip; leave that to the Hondas. Save up for a dual exhaust (there is a side exit kit for V6's out there, or go with a GT bumper) to net you some better looks, and some needed extra ponies for your sixer.
