Default 98 cobra

just recently, i took my 98 cobra to the shop and the mechanic told me that it's in my best interest to start looking for a new engine. does anyone know how much an engine for my year would cost? ball-park figures would be greatly appreciated.

At a dealership a 32 valve DOHC 4.6L cobra engine - Ford Remanufactured is about $4100 without labor , luckily the engine in my cobra was replaced 8,000 miles ago before i bought the car.

Unless the engine is completely worn out, it might be a good idea to see if anyone can repair the engine you have.

Why do you need a new engine?

Yeah, I second that. Give us some more information as to why your mechanic believes this, please. I'm assuming this guy is familiar with Cobras, right?
