Almost died last night.
I was out with a friend watching some street racing at one of the airports in the Hartford area last night. They had some really fast cars out there.
There was this Pinto with a bigblock in it that was just unloaded from a flat bed tow truck. They were working on it re jetting the carb. I was standing in front of it while they were working on it. Then they try to start it, but it was in gear. The guy was only half in the car and it took off. It was about 5 feet away from the tow truck. I jumped up onto the hood and kinda rolled off. I landed on my feet as the car smashed into the tow truck. If I wasn't paying atention I would have been crushed. Just thought I'd share that. |
OMG RMP427 that is scary and I am glad to hear you are okay!! On a funnier note was it Eric's pinto???;) ;) ;)
See Ya, Karen |
U were lucky u saw it in time, and could jump up on the hood, I fell bad for the guy who owned the Pinto, but worse of what could have happend.
|
No, it was owned by a bunch of people that didn't speak english.
There are a pair of ambulences that watch the racing just in case. They don't call the cops unless someone gets hurt which is cool. |
:0
GOD..how scary...I'm glad you were aware of it....did you get hurt at all? K...whats wrong with this picture...
1) they spoke no english 2) Pinto.... LOL.... I know its nothing to laugh at, i'm really glad you are okay. That would have been just wayyyyyyy too much. These last couple of weeks have sucked as far as people getting into accidents, killed, ,hurt, etc.! Glad everything is okay....take care, Christine TNT |
man , glad you are ok, geez that suck's im tired of hearing about people dying, glad you arent the latest.  :D
|
whoa!! Glad you're ok!! That could have been way worse!!!!
|
Okay, now that have a firm grip on Rule Number One (never stand in front of a car when it's started), try and remember Rule Number Two as well; Never stand in line with the fan when the engine is started, either.
I've seen several guys break legs getting hit by a car with the neutral safety switch removed (who's ever going to need it, right?), and one guy that lost an ear when a fan came loose because someone forgot to tighten the 4 10mm bolts on the pump. I'm glad you're okay, but I want you to stay okay! Regardless of the type of person or the type of car, never stand in front when someone has their hand on the key, even if they're "just bumping it". Take care, ~Chris |
Glad to hear your ok bud,
my dad crushed both his knee caps like that, his Mustang was parellel parked and went to start it while it was in gear and it jumped forward and pinned him between the two cars crushing both knee caps. Glad to hear your ok, §am. |
Glad to hear your ok. I think next time you won't get near a car where the owners don't speak the same language, you never know it could have been done on purpose :o
|
Hey man, Glad you're OK. Soooo, did you have to go home and change your shorts??????;)
C-ya, Melisa |
Hey man glad your ok. Kinda gives you a diffrent prospective on life huh. Well i aint standing in front of cars anymore when they start and the hoods up.
|
WOW!! Sounds like we ALL learned something on this one. Glad you had the reflexes to move like you did. Chris, good advice, a fan coming at you is a scary thought.
