you can like both the 4 and 8's. but you seem to give the impression "4 cylinder turbo, not V8 is alot of weight" kind of attitude. the key word is IMPRESSION! i know you never said anything like that!

i've loved v8's for 20 years, since i was a kid.......

i've been into turbo performance for about a year........

but honestly, i have far more fun in my turbo four than 90% of v8 rwd's i've driven........and like it or not, it is comparable (if not quicker than) the average v8 you'll find on the road........obviously a performance v8 has more potential than a performance 4......but most v8's aren't the case (my car will eat, sleep, and drink cars like chevelles with 307's and tired out of tune 350's and whatnot)

there are at least as many 15 second mustangs than 13 second cars stangs on the road.......of couse that isn't the case here, this is a board for enthusiasts who tend to want to make their cars faster.......which is real easy when you have a platform and aftermarket like the mustang............my point: this board isn't a truely accurate representation for mustangs on the road.......i know 6 people with mustangs, 4 are bone stock, 1 has exhaust only, and one is mildly modded (prolly a low 13 second car)

i like beating kids in civics with a car they think should be recycled............

but i love smoking a cocky arsehole in a stock 81 vette with a 1.8 liter volkwagen and hearing him whine, "wah, your car is newer than mine, wah", "wah, you have a turbo and i don't, wah", "wah, you got a better jump than me, wah"

Look dude, I have the upmost respect for the Confederate flag. I am from the south too (well, southeastern mo, but still, the south). The fact that I wave the flag in my avatar, battle flag or not, is my choice. I don't have any hate towards anyone.

What pissed me off is when you came on this board and started posting about ricers and such. I guess I percieved you as a person that is or a ricer type. Maybe your not, but I found some of your statements insulting, to say the least.

If you want to hop up your VW, well that's just fine.

As far as our, well, "conflict" on this board, is it really worth having? I'm tired of it, to tell you the truth. I'm sure that you are too. I'm sure that you find me offensive and arrogant. Maybe I am. I dunno.

Oh yeah, I graduated from high school last year.

cbring is just as bad of a stereotyper as anyone else. the fact that he takes the "rice haters club" name as a racial attack on someone (asian, etc) is quite narrowminded (you did say that in a past post as a insult towards asians). its just a plain dislike of a attitude (an attitude that anyone can have). i have asian friends and they have never seen it as a racial slur, because they can see past the end of there noses. as for his attack on dan-man, grow up, just because he has that doesn't mean he is a racist as you quickly stereotyped him (its was very implyed). oh and my friend has a turboed gti and its not that fast either i have driven it. even he knows that a 5.0 would take him out, as a few has but he enjoys the car he has so all the power to him, but he doesn't come in here and spout off like a whining little brat. later all, have fun.

You want the truth? Coming from somebody who's been a member of this board since mid 1999, I'd have to say over the years people here have become "ricer-phobic." They don't know what a ricer is anymore, and any vehicle that has any modification they don't think is particularily cool is therefore a ricer.

In reality, many people here are not car enthusiasts in my honest opinion. They are high performance V-8 Mustang enthusiasts. The only 14-15sec car it's okay to put appearance mods on (conservative wheels, blackouts, oversized cowl induction hood) are Mustangs. Wings are nearly forbidden because they are rice. Nevermind the Mustang has been equipped with optional wings/spoliers since the 1960's. Those are not rice because they are Mustangs. I also say V-8 Mustang enthusiasts because V6 and I4 owners are routinely ripped on here as if the almighty V8 is the symbol of being worthy to post about performance. I find it to be hypocritical. Most people here would trust what PKRWUD has to say, yet his full size Ford truck with a 1000lb load in the back could probably be outrun by a new V6 Mustang without a problem.

They also appear quite sexist when it comes to acceptable mods. A guy talking about putting appearance mods on their car before it's a 13 second car may receive ridicule. A female can put whatever they want on. There are enough leg humpers to inflate the female's ego.

Actually, there doesn't need to be any mod involved at all. If you simply enjoy your car here in a different way than dragging it down a 1/4 mile, you may be ridiculed. Also, if you do something unusual for fun, such as driving a down a dirt road and goofing off people may post threads saying you should be shot, and/or beaten etc.

It's why I'm now very scarce around here. I'd rather hang around with true enthusiasts.

youre right...100%..i try to leave more open-minded posts when people say "OH MY GOD! I CANT BELIEVE SOMEONE DID THIS!"...but about 90% of the people will just look at it in disgust...if someone come son here and asks for appearance advice about thier mustang its like a bashfest or a bunch of narrowminded replies..."you can only get saleen ground effects, anything else is just rice", well if you look at a saleen, its covered in appearance mods, the whole body style has been created to stick out (our vague defintion of rice now includes the damn saleen mustangs)...we cant have xenon even though they all pretty mcuh look alike, because it doenst carry the saleen name...its all about trying to look cool here then too...course if I said I loved the steeda wing (the one that is a touch taller and quite a bit wider with tips) and wanted one, most of you would probably start bashing me, or any pics I posted...sure I dont like giantass fart cans out the back or the sound they make, or construction paper ground effects on anything either....but when they actually put decent parts on their car, I tend to look at it like its nice (whether or not its made in japan)....im incredibly impressed with the subaru wrx and love the 3000GT VR4...and the first time I watched the fast and the furious it was probably the coolest movie all summer...(course i still came outta there saying the good cars were the supra and the charger)....so i should be a ricer...none of us consider our muffler accessories to be rice, why not even though all they do is make you loud (excluding offroad x-pipes etc) ?? since all those giant cans mainly amplify the sound coming from the back of their 4cyl, whats the diff between that and amplifying the sound from an 8cyl? we think the 8cyl sounds nicer, some like bubblebees, but we cant rip apart everything that Ford hasnt produced for a pony car....i feel like we are in a group just like the ricers are...i love racing ricers...a good majority of them around here are nice guys and will give my stang a decent race...in fact, its the ls1 guys that seem the worst in town...so we need to start to think outside the box perhaps...

lets try not to think too deep on what I just said either, because a lot of you guys are really nice people, carry some good conversation and really tend to care about the other people on this site...so im not trying to say we're bad people, just agreeing that we are a bunch of ricer-phobes like unit said...

kell you are right, there was a thread about v-6 stang's being riced, i took up for the sixer's, yes i have seen some riced, but have also seen riced gt's, etc but i dont knock v-6's or 4 banger's, i may kid with josh sometimes, but this guy is getting annoying, now he want's to talk about an army flag, your right , i would rather spend my hard earned money on power, not looks,maybe he will just troll on through.

, like i said before i pulled up next to a honda with factory v-tech badge's , gave him a thumb's up, he did likewise, i respected his car.
