1972 Mach 1 "H" code but a 351CJ under hood?
I am new to the board so first of all Hi.
I am also new to Mustangs and looking at buying a 72 Mach 1. I am having trouble identifying the engine however. The VIN is 2F05H173393 and everything I have read says it should be a 351 with a 2 barrell. This is not the case. The air cleaner says 351 CJ and definately has a 4 barrell. The emission sticker says 351 4V and has a code on it of D20E9C485 BD. The other code I can find is on the top of the intake manifold and it is D1ZE9425 BB. I believe the second number to be the year which adds to the confusion. One other thing that may help is the Data on the door. The trans is an X for FMX and the axle has a code of 2. Both the VINs match on the door and in the dash. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

The engine has a code cast into the block just above the starter. That is the only way to know for sure what it is.
