Post Got My 14's! (long)

i got the 14 second times that i knew my car could run. I just need to work on my driving cause i think that is half of it right there. i had changed a few small things and i think between that and my driving is where it came from. the things i changed was the plugs, had ngk platinum in there and i switched to autolites and i also changed fuel filter, when old one was off and i turned it to drain it black crud came out so was way overdue to be changed. i also added a 76 mm c&l mass air kit, it comes with the m.a.f and the tube to the throttle body. i'm not sure if that help any, but when i make more mods later on it will. my best last time was a 15.122 @ 93.43 here's my 4 time slips
run 1 run 2 run 3 run 4
60' 2.341 2.266 2.196 2.384
330' 6.604 6.389 6.327 6.460
660' 9.926 9.710 9.634 9.787
mph 73.52 73.75 75.33 73.45
1320 15.133 14.901 14.858 15.000
mph 96.10 96.23 95.83 96.09

only question i have is this: i have 3'73's and 225-60-15 tires and at end of run my shift lite i have set at 5100 comes on just before finish line but i figured out that 96 mph should be around 47-4800, does that mean my clutch is slipping??

congrats on cracking into the 14's. once you get some more practice (60fts) you'll be consistantly in the 14's! I don't think your clutch is slipping, I you would notice it more when you take off from a start than at the end of the track and looking at your 60fts you weren't having a problem burning rubber your tach may be off a little, or sometimes the math just doesn't quite coinside with real life. keep having fun!

Once you get a good launch technique figured out and get the 60' times in the 2.0's you should see low 14's. I wouldn't worry about the end rpm not matching the calculated figures enless you feel the clutch slipping.

Thumbs up

A little more practice and you'll be running low 14's real soon. It took me a while to "learn" how to launch my supercharged GT. If I remember back before I put on the S-trim, rev it up to 3200rpm and slip the clutch. Try not to bog the motor down, but don't overpower the tires. Practice makes perfect. I "always" spin the tires.
