Thumbs up One word (plus a hyphen) BAD-A$$. The Beast is Back

Well, the wife wanted me to pick the beast up before she came home from the hospital.

So, me and Ian (Hi-PSI) made the trip late Tuesday and crashed at the Bates Motel (Scary).

We hit Alternative about 7:30 to 8:00. We were there about 4 hours total. Very good experience. Lidio's shop is pretty cool, he has his Orange 98, cleanest car I've ever seen, it has something like 33 to 35 inch slicks on the back, looked mean as $hit!

I don't care if your into the 5.0 or the 4.6, he had some really nice engines laying around. Ian was hoping he'd turn his back for a minute to swipe one, lol!

The Felpro setup is just awesome. The car runs very good. Daily drivability is awesome, I have no more surging, AC works great, WOT power is awesome.

The car just pulls and pulls and pulls. It is awesome to sit there and be able to change the tuning real time in your car with the Felpro. Crank the idle up, it goes up right in front of you. Everything is real time. Ian's favorite and mine is the Data logger. You can set it up to come on by hitting a button or at a given throttle percentage.

You can log between a 1 and 30 second run. You can data log up to 8 tables at one time. You can overlay them, replay each one, just plain kick butt! I can't wait to make some track runs with the computer.

Final numbers were 504rwhp and 415rwtq. However, that is on a MD dyno. From what I understand the MD sees 8 to 12% less than a dynojet. I'll take the middle at 10%. So, My official numbers will be:

560rwhp @ 7400 rpms.
461rwtq @ 6400 rpms.

Also, this is a conservative tune still. I think if I wanted to push it we could do more, but I am interested in longevity and safety, especially with the head gaskets towards the end of their life.

I am very pleased with the car, I am hoping to track baseline it tomorrow. However, the first couple weeks I am going to take her out on DR's, just to feel it out and play with the data logger. I am hoping to see some real good trap speeds. That will give me a good idea of what she'll do with the slicks on.

We ended up using a boost a pump on the car. Above 8psi we started to drop from 65psi to about 45psi, A/F was still perfect, but for safety we added the booster.

BTW, we ended up seeing 14 psi with only a 3.1 pulley. That is with still using the SC Trim blower with the downgraded impeller. I was pretty happy with that. I'd say that's mostly due to the high rpms. Around 7200 we were seeing about 12.5 which is right in line.

So, that's bout it for now. I'll update some track #'s hopefully tomorrow.
