You guys are forgetting about something. While I agree that the amount of money being made by baseball players is rediculous, think how much more money the owners of baseball teams are making to afford to be able to pay these outragous salaries. The owners are basically making the salaries of the players. A-rod didn't ask for the 250 million contract...it was offered to him and him being a smart man took the money. The contract that he was ready to sign was "only" worth 170 million but for a longer term as well meaning less per year. The owners want to cap the salaries of the players so that they can continue to make more and more money and laugh at the players for accepting limits. I personally think that the smart thing for the players to do in this situation is not to strike and to continue playing for the fans. If the owners decide to lock them out next season, at least we can't blame the players since they are being kept from playing by the greedy owners.
