I dont see the players striking as being any different then when my dad (belonging to the UAW) would go on strike when I was a kid. All the UAW workers wanted was their fare share, and thats all the players want. It just so happens that a players fare share (determined by the market) just happens to be more money in a year than a UAW worker might make in his entire life.

I knew it was only a matter of time before someone said this, although the talk of only seeing "dollar signs" is truly more accurate for the players.
Your argument is a weak one, for the sole fact that "loving the game" IS part of their job...they are BALL PLAYERS...entertainers, heros to the little kids who play in the sandlot down the street...Do you see what I'm saying?
And yes, I think it's retarded to betray your followers for $1 million when you already make $5,000,000...Its NOT like a worker striking for fair treatment and wages in exchange for slaving in a factory all day long. When you get to the point that several million a year is not enough to sustain your lifestyle...well...although its their choice how to spend their earnings, you should really stop comparing them to a man who makes $60K to pay a mortgage and feed his wife and 3 kids...
