Boy, this really got me thinking. I think I get something different each time I go to the grocery store. Okay, I'll list my cereal favorites in no particular order:
1. Fruity Pebbles 2. Cocoa Puffs 3. Cap'n Crunch, the Christmas version....think it's Christmas Crunch.....then again, they probably had to change it because they didn't want to "offend" anyone ny using the word "Christmas". I find it so goddamn disgusting that you can't say "Merry Christmas" to someone, but it's all fine, dandy, and P/C if you say "Happy Qwanzaa?" Is it a crime to be in the majority? Why does there have to be such a guilt trip for those of us that celebrate Christmas?!? Ugh, okay rant over. 4. Corn Puffs 5. That really cheap, cheap version of Cheerios at Aldi's. Now for a cereal history lesson: 6. Star Wars C3PO cereal (that was the *****), cried when it was discontinued, circa 1985 7. KABOOM! a cheap, marshmellowed cereal that made your poo turn all sorts of colors 8. Popeye puffed wheat 9. Boo-berry (is that still around?), cousin to Count Chocula 10. The original HUGE Lump of Wheat (big version of miniwheats) Damn, I wanna go get some fruity pebbles right now....that or the chocolate ones! :D Just thinking about the fruity smell.....aaaaaaaaaah........ |

The top three
I think my top three are:
1. Frosted Flakes 2. Cookie Crisps 3. Cinnamon Toast Crunch.... mmmm This is a bad topic, I think we all need to go home right now and start eating cereal, (yeah like my boss would understand :D  ) Ultraflo... I can't believe you said good stuff Maynard. My Dad would say that to me when I was younger whenever I had to eat anything disgusting like asparagus (sp) or brussell sprouts (utterly disgusting). That's way funny to hear, Keith |
fruity pebbles!

1) Fruit and Fibre (Peach)
2) Chocolatey Cocoa Pebbles 3) Reeses Pieces Butter Cup Cereal 4) Blueberry Morning ..can't think of anymore right now... :) |
I always go for the cap n crunch with crunch berries by far the best. I love it when they make the boxes of just all crunch berries haven't seen it in about 4 years though.
I do like to get some strawberry milk and put into some fruity pebbles every now and then. |

I hope you all are happy. I went grocery shopping this afternoon, and $13 of the $172 I spent was for cereal. First time in years that I have bought cereal.
Of course, I forgot the damn milk. Take care, ~Chris |

Vons, actually.
http://deephousepage.com/smilies/rant.gif And why the *** do they put the milk and the cereal on opposite ends of the damn store, anyway. I want to eat my cereal now, but I don't want to go back to damn Vons for milk. Hmph! Son of a *****. It's Friday the 13th, isn't it? |
Cinamon toast crunch is at the top of my list.
But I dont have any milk either:( Chris, just pour a little Budweiser and start the 13th off right!:) -drew |
Capri306 it was FrankinBerry that was discontinued. It had so much red coloring that it was turning kids crap pink. Count Chocula has the same about coloring as FrankinBerry, but since it's chocolate.........

indeed.. i had a final today at 7:00 am.. was up all night, it was cold rainy and all around crappy.. but i did fine on the final, and it quit an i went home an crashed till 3:00pm..happy friday the 13th everybody.. to answer your qustion, its all marketing and psychology. advertising depts. from various food makers pay huge revenues for product placement in stores, statistically it has been proven that if you alphabetize soups, there is an overall drop of 30% in over all purchase of the said soup products. to create a pleasurable shopping experiance, store layouts entice you to enter by showing you freshness of cold crisp fruits an vegetables. by then your browsing through asiles scoping deals, realise the incosistencies of similar products needed in a meal? meat in one location, canned foods in the other direction... its all meant to keep you walking through and spending more than what you come in for initially. due to the fact the average shopper is female between 4'4- an 5 ft, the instore aisles are spread aproximately 8ft apart. with about 6 ft of shelf height because the eye level of most women is between these height measurements the shoper grasps a better over- all vision of different products an brands.. thus the products are easier to see, and the products sell better. |
1. Cookie Crisp
. . . . . . . 2. Peanut Butter Crunch 3. Lucky Charms |
