which is better? I'm an old Ford guy so I'm askin which is better.; a '65 Ford Falcon, a '65 Fairlane, or a '65 Ford truck (any)? I'm partial to '65 - as you can tell. I just want some opinions for future possible rides. |

1965 Fords I would choose a '65 Falcon Futura coupe. 289 V-8 and (I believe) it was available with a 4 bbl. and 4-speed trans. Mustang-size (the original 'Stang was based on the Falcon platform and they shared many parts) and - a 5.0 fits! Not common and still sharp. Can be modded for real performance. The Fairlane was O.K. - it could be ordered with the 289/271 HP engine the Mustang had, but I always saw it as sort of an awkward car, although it's somewhat rare, now. A 1965 F-150 is an old truck - you either like 'em or you don't. They bore me. The '65 F-150 did have a 351 engine available - for whatever that's worth. Were I buying a new car in 1965, I probably would have chosen the Falcon 289 for it's Mustang underpinnings and lower cost. Fun car. This is all subjective but hey, you wanted opinions. |

the 65 Fairlane was the one i picked. it was the sharpest car of the bunch you mentioned. not saying the others are bad, but a Fairlane has its place. |

 I like the 64 fairlanes the best IMO. I wanna make a 427 thunderbolt replica some day :D :D :D Later |

If u like the use of a truck, but like the looks of a Falcon. Try to get a '65 Falcon Ranchero. Not sure, but I think even Fairlane had a Ranchero model too. |

 i picked the truck...cuz I love old trucks... ;) |
|
the '65 Falcon got my vote. But I would take any of them really. :D |
|
I PICK THE TRUCK TOO-------CAUSE I LIKE OLD TRUCKS TOO |

A couple years ago, a buddy and I built a '64 Ranchero. That thing was ugly as sin, but very fast. Since it wasn't an option, I didn't vote. Sorry. Take care, -Chris |

I like the falcon the best. There was one in my hometown when I was growning up that was awesome. I don't know if it was stock anymore, but it sure was cool  |

 i like the 65 falcon body style,jmo:) |
|
I went with the fairlane. I'm not a big fan of the falcons for the simple reason that i love older big cars. For a racing car i'd go falcon but for cruising i'd go fairlane all the way. |

too bad they are all old cars...otherwise i would have voted :D |

i picked the falcon. My buddy's dad (who, incidentally, got me into mustangs!) restored a 63 Falcon using mustang 2 suspension parts. 5.0, aluminum heads, intake, carter AFB carb. top loader four speed. the car is so small and light it flies. He has a set of slicks on it, and drives it on the street. he can launch at a light and pick the front tires like 2 feet in the air! car is f-ing cool. i was going to buy it off of him, but i don't like the color. Gumby green. |
