Lightbulb 1965 Fords

I would choose a '65 Falcon Futura coupe. 289 V-8 and (I believe) it was available with a 4 bbl. and 4-speed trans.

Mustang-size (the original 'Stang was based on the Falcon platform and they shared many parts) and - a 5.0 fits! Not common and still sharp. Can be modded for real performance.

The Fairlane was O.K. - it could be ordered with the 289/271 HP engine the Mustang had, but I always saw it as sort of an awkward car, although it's somewhat rare, now.

A 1965 F-150 is an old truck - you either like 'em or you don't. They bore me. The '65 F-150 did have a 351 engine available - for whatever that's worth.

Were I buying a new car in 1965, I probably would have chosen the Falcon 289 for it's Mustang underpinnings and lower cost. Fun car.

This is all subjective but hey, you wanted opinions.
