Angry Noise only when I roll in reverse?

I am hearing a noise whenever I roll in reverse. I don't hear it when I give the cars some gas and go in reverse just when I roll in neutral or have the clutch pushed in. Sounds like it could be coming from the rear but I am not positive. I am not sure what it could be? Does any one have any ideas?

Its kind of a grinding. Not a harsh grind. I don't think its the tranny because it happens when I just coast or roll backwards in neutral.

Check your brakes. Also jack up your car and unhook the driveshaft and spin the wheels. This will differentiate between the tranny and the axle assembly.
