Blowers
What superchargers, if any, would be advisable for a mustang with a STOCK setup. If I wanted to keep the mustang stock and street driven only, are there any SC's that I can install without having to install new injectors, heads, etc. ?
Thanks, Roland BTW the T-5 install is sweet so far.... beats the hell outta the AOD

6 lb range...
The A-trim is an entry level 6 lb blower kit from vortech and retains the stock components of the engine.
It comes complete for right around $1500-$1600. expect a 40-50 hp pickup at the wheels.

I have seen an electric one on ebay. They promise 25-40 HP gain, with a stock setup, and all you have to do is hook up two wires
Really, The new SQ from Vortech, the Novi 1000 or the procharger P-600 are the entry level blowers. All can be had for less than 2000$. Look in your local trading post or Ebay for a used setup for cheaper. Glad the T_5 swap worked good for you.

It doesnt need oil from the oil pan, it returns oil to the oil pan. you want the procharger if you dont want to mess with the oil pan return line.

Go to http://www.novipower.com/ for the best entry blower for stock 5.0s yet. You will have to get larger injectors, shouldnt be too bad bud. But you can keep your stock heads ect and get 100+ hp and torque I think. Go check out the site
edit: the novi 1000 is what you should look at

I have a Novi 1000 on my Mustang, and it was stock at the time I installed it with the exception of gears and exhaust. Great entry level blower. They now have a "new" Novi 1000 out with a seperate blower belt, unlike the single belt system they started with. I paid $1,700 new for mine, so the price was right. I was seeing 4psi of boost at 4100ft elevation. Installed a smaller blower pulley and an F-150 crank pulley and on a nice cool day/night, I see about 8psi. Not bad for an extra $20. Definately check out novipower.com we have a lot of people on there that can answer any question you have. With the FMU, you can run your stock injectors with no problems on a stock engine.

The Novi 1k and the Vortech are both good choices. If you're looking for room to grow, the Novi can support more boost and flows better but if you're just going to run low boost (5-8 psi) you can't go wrong with either choice. Good Luck and let us know what you decide on! Dan

It definately kills boost! Hence my signature on novipower! I wish I could get this thing down at sea level one day. I am going to try and make the FFW event in Phoenix this year and see if I can run in the street class. They are close to 1,000ft I think, give or take a few 100. My wife and I were in San Diego this past weekend in her Trailblazer and what a difference there was in that thing! I need thick air!!

wow, lots to think about. I just read that my t-5, which I pulled out of a 1985 GT, is rated at 265 lb/ft of torque. Uh OH for me if I want a blower I guess. Maybe I should be thinking about building a stronger tranny first?

I like the procharger stuff for a street car because it is intercooled.
