Post Bullitt

Has anyone heard if Ford is going to actually release the Bullitt Mustang in the Spring. Last thing I read stated that it might be a limited "Spring Special".

yes! It's available. I've already seen a couple of cars at the local Ford dealership.

Wink

The bullitt car is going to be available, but as of yet it is not. All the cars at dealerships are standard GT's with the new wheel design. Which by the way, looks good!! I want a set for my Cobra!!

Cool

Here are the facts:
1) Ford is going to build the Bullitt.
2) Ford "Job 1" is March 5, 2001.
3) Originally to be built in one color (Dark Green) it will now be offered in three: Dark Highland Green, Black, and True Blue.
4) Interior will be Black leather only.
5) Only option is the indash 6 disc CD player, everything else is standard equipment.
6) The car is basically a Premium GT package with a lowered suspension, revised "C" pillar, aluminum shift knob, and more HP.
7)The Preferred Equipment package that designates a "Bullitt" is 135A. A premium GT is 140A and deluxe GT is 130A. Look on the window sticker for the number in the options column to determine a real Bullitt.

I have already placed the order for 2 Bullitt Editions for the dealership where I work, one Green and one Black.

The horsepower is supposedly coming from a "less restrictive exhaust" and revised intake. It is supposed to be at least 275 HP, up 15 HP from a stock GT.

From what I've heard, which isn't all that realiable, the price should be around $30K. A bit pricy for a GT, but what a GT it is!! I'd buy one!

your not only paying for the extra hp which i've read they are expecting ATLEAST 275 out of it, and Ford likes to be conservative on their hp ratings, 385 hp for the R? yah right, that thing puts out 376 to the REAR WHEELS, a different intake, computer, exhaust and induction tubing should get this stocker to about 13.7 or so with good conditions, the kit is $3695 over the base price of a GT (about 21-22K, which is a little pricy but the car performs and looks awesome, but if you think about it $3695 is a blower and a little more

MORE INFORMATION...
The cost of the Bullitt package is about $3700. This brings the suggested retail, including the optional in dash 6 disc CD changer, to approximately $27,400.
The car will also feature a "retro" instument cluster (The speedo and tach have large off white numbers), metal pedal covers, and larger 13" brake rotors.
I have a Ford promo flyer that I will bring home tomorrow and post some of the pictures here. I will also post the exact MSRP.
My Ford rep was in yesterday and he said Ford does not know exacly how many they will build, it depends on the demand for the car. Don't expect more than 10,000 though.

I don't know about everyone else ... but I think the package is a good buy.
Considering the aftermarket stuff out there now.

Cool

I was shooting a commercial at one of our Ford Dealers this morning and nabbed a brochure. They are ordering two. Can you say test drive? I'd love to say "buy" but, you know how money priorities always are.
For those that are interested here are links to the scanned brochure. Sorry if they are big but I wanted to make sure the detail came through.

I have been tormenting myself about trading in the 97 for the new Bullitt or at the very least a 01 GT. I just love the SN95 Body lines though but....
