Bullitt

For any of you who have not seen the movie (or watched it recently) go rent it tomorrow night. I just saw it again, and here are a couple things I have to say about it.

1. That's what a '67 Fastback should look like. None of this fancy "Elanor" crap. Dark, loud, fast as he11, and a toploader (torque thrusts and polyglas too:D ).

2. Jacquline Bisset. Wow, she is darn hot in that movie. I don't care how old she is now, man she was a looker then. Much better than these chicks in movies now.

3. The soundtrack of the car chase is the cars. No music overlay, just big block Ford, and OHV Mopar.

4. There is a comlex plot in an action movie.

5. Did I mention Steve McQueen?

A classic for sure. On a side note, the Charger loses at least five hubcaps in one chase scene. Now that is impressive. I almost forgot about this brunette named Jacquline Bisset. :D

bullitt is a tight movie, and the stang is tight, but eleanore is eleanore though, both those cars are tight *** hell, and i think bullitt has the best car chase scenes. one special effects just driving.

Crazy Horse GT 08-15-2002 03:38 AM

steve mcqueen was a driving fool, he was the man, no doubt. :D :D ;)

You're obviously referring to Elanore in the remake of Gone in 60 Seconds, right? I got to meet and hang out with that car, and I'm sorry, but she still has my heart. She sweet talked me out of it. She isn't a Shelby, by the way, but she is a sweet car. Very well done.

Yeah, the car from the remake is what I was referring to. Since they are both '67-68 cars. I think she was sweet too, I just don't understang chopping up a good fastback to make 'yet another Elanor clone' instead of a hunter green bullit car. It just has that classic look.

Were you at the auction in Santa Barbara that had one of the movie cars? I went down there with a couple friends and almost bid on the Boss 302 that was there. I got a chance to sit in it before and talk to the guy after it was sold. He was going to drop a 427 in it, if I remember correctly.:D

The Deep? I'll rent it this weekend. That and the first 'Gone in 60 seconds' if I can find it.

bullitt

there is also one detail everybody left out. in one of the car chase scenes when the charger goes through the gas station and blows up.

thats where they made a boo- boo because if you watch real close you will see the gas station blows up before the charger hits it:cool:

I have it on DVD, and the big chase scene sounds incredible on DVD with a halfway decent stereo system

No, I never made it to the auction, but on it's way up to Santa Barbara, they brought her to Ventura Raceway to do the flag ceremony one night, and then parked her by the pits for the rest of the night. Last August, I think.

Yes, go rent The Deep. Jackie in a wet t-shirt.

:D

You can find anything for sale on the internet. I would try there, I know there are some on Ebay.

MidNiteBlu 5.0 08-17-2002 01:17 AM

I love that movie and i need to go buy it. I would rather have a Bullit replica than a Eleanor replica. Something about a dark green 67-68 fastback with torq thrusts just does it for me :D Even though eleanor is a sweet car too.

Later,
Nick
