BUYING A 93 COBRA
HEY EVERYONE, I'M 16 AND I HAVE A QUESTION FOR YALL. WOULD YALL BUY A 93 COBRA THAT HAS REALATIVELY LOW MILEAGE AND IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION IF IT WAS NOT THE FACTORY COLOR. I FIGURE I COULD PROBABLY GET IT FOR $7500. I WAS JUST WONDERIN CUZ I LIKE IT A LOT AND WAS WONDERIN IF YALL THINK IT WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA. THANX!!

1.) How low mileage?
2.) How good condition? 3.) How good paint now and what color? If all those answers are positive, sounds good to me. Rev ------------------ '66 Coupe, 306, 300 HP, C-4, 13.97 e.t., 100.3 mph 1/4 mi. |
I'M NOT SURE ABOUT THE MILEAGE BUT IT IS IN GOOD CONDITION AND TEH PAINT IS PERFECT AND PROFESSIONALLY APPLIED. THE COLOR IS ORANGE(SIMILAR TO THE NEW COBRA R'S) AND IT LOOKS SWEET!!!

Check carefully to make sure it's not a wreck-rebuild with a sweet new paint job. Ask to see the title to make sure it doesn't say "salvage" anywhere on it. Maybe take it to some trusted mechanic and pay $50-100 for a careful check over. Sometimes that's a bargain. My $.02.

If the car has a clean title and is in good shape, I say GO FOR IT!! I'd love to have a 93 Cobra!

Better make sure it is a real Cobra. Call FoMoCo with the VIN to verify. Also, you want to make sure it hasn't been mashed before. That seems pretty cheap for a 93 Cobra. If it is real and the title is clean, then by all means get it!

WELL, THE FIRST THING YOU NEED TO DO IS PUSH THE "CAPS LOCK" BUTTON ON YOUR KEYBOARD...IT GIVES THE IMPRESSION THAT YOU ARE YELLING AND IS DIFFICULT TO READ LIKE THIS.
Now that I got that out of the way...I agree with the above replies. Do a carfax report on the VIN# to make sure it's clear. Take it to a mechanic and get it checked over. If everything seems ok, then $7500 sounds like a good deal. Not that I think any 16-year old should be driving a Cobra... http://www.mustangworks.com/interact...board/wink.gif ------------------ T-Bones 1997 Cobra Wht/blk, Pro 5.0,FRPP 4.10's, aluminum driveshaft, FRPP throttle body, C&L 80mm MAF, K&N, Steeda U/D pulleys, Steeda timing adjuster, Flowmasters, s/f connectors, FRPP pro springs, BBK caster/cambers. http://web.ndak.net/~topel/TBone1.jpg |
I second Josh91's comment about making sure it's a real Cobra. It's sounds too good to be true for $7500. I've seen these cars go for at least double that. Be careful and good luck.

an orange cobra? You better get ready to be hardcore harrased, I would get the thing repainted immediatly, but thats just me. I don't like Arrest Me Red, Ticket Me Orange, or Jail Me Yellow. Not that they are bad colors, just that they attract attention, especially of the guys who sit in dunkin doughnuts and drive cars with flashy lights on top.............
