click on the RLS racing link in my sig for a few pics of a 5.5" extended lift-off cowl of the Cervini variety...
Non-extended.... I like the 4" cowl, myself. It's all personal preference really, but some opinions are always nice. |

Just my opinion of course, but I like the 3" . Unless you have a reason for needing that extra inch or so, 3" is as big as I like to go.

Unless space is needed I say go as small as possible. I like subtle change and the 2.5 is just that. You can tell it's there, but it isn't too aggressive. The larger the cowl, the less attention the rest of the car gets. There's my opinion

IMOHO, 2-1/2", thats all.
Its subtle, yet noticable...

Personally, I think the only reason for a 2 1/2" is if you Road Race. Otherwise I like a mean looking stang with a 3 or 4 inch cowl.

It's a personal preference issue, you have to decide or yourself. I'm probably a bit older than many of you (mid-30's) and find the big raised hoods just silly looking unless you REALLY need it to clear something big under there. The maximum I will go is 1.5" if i NEED it to clear the engine I end up putting in. I'm considering a 351-based engine, and with the EFI I may need some extra room under there. If I end up not needing any extra room you couldn't make me put on a cowl hood at gunpoint.
...personal opinion only... Big-T |
