Default Hey.....Dan......quick question

Why can't I change the texted under my name but above my avatar in posts? I've tried to follow the directions of others that have dne this, but I don't see the box they are talking about. Am I just SOL? If not, what am I doing wrong?

Anyway, thanks Dan. Your the bestest ever.

to start off i'd like to say that i agree that Dan is the bestest ever

i read the other post about this and i'm having the same problem. I remember seeing the option to change it when the new site came online at first but i was gonna come back and change it when i thought of something creative but now i can't find it either.

I guess maybe Dan changed that. Oh well, no biggie.

It would have been kinda cool, but not nessacery to enjoy the site.

Oh well, later.

It was still an option when I just now checked. Follow this path:

User CP / Edit Profile / Custom User Text (just below "Birthdate").

Take care,

Nope. I'm still here. I've just been away from the site since Friday. I spent most of today (Saturday) changing the water pump on my 1994 Saturn. Ya, ya... A GM product. However, that's ok, since I store my real vehicles (my Ford's) in for the Michigan winters and let the GM product rust and fall apart further and further each season. Much better the Saturn than my Lightning, eh?

Any ways, you guys are brown nosing (but, I like it) hehehe. Thanks for the compliments though.

As far as creating a custom title goes, yes, when I first activated the new board I had this incorrectly configured and the board let ANYONE with any amount of posts edit their title. Now, to get a custom title a moderator must edit your profile OR you will gain the ability to create your own title once you have 1500 posts under your belt. This way it gives the most senior members a reward and shows who's been the most active participants in our community.

Of course, several people used this feature the first week the new board was up and running, and now they already have custom titles. The only thing I could do about that I guess is edit everyone's profiles one by one to change them back. What a pain that would be, so I've let it be I guess...

Well, doesn't that just suck for me? If I get ANY say so, which I don't, I'd like to change it around, but not sure as to what to change it to. I guess I'll just have to post more, huh?

Thanks anyway Dan.

BTW, if brown nosing were an Olympic sport I'd get the gold.....heh heh.

Later.
