Yea
Problably cuz people dont have their stangs that modified thats why problably they dont race them yet . Because a mustang is a lil bit more expensive to modify than a Ricer. Ricers are cheaper to modify.

it might just be where you are! where i live mustangs are everywhere. on saturday nights during the summer there's a ton of stangs that cruise the local strip, out numbering any other car out there. right now everyone has put them away for winter, but in a few more months they'll be back out tearing it up. oh and i thought ricers were more expensive to mod. there's a ton of competition in the mustang market and prices are pretty reasonable.

Mustangs are WAY cheaper to modify than rice. You aren't going to get any real speed out of rice w/out nitrous or forced induction. Porting, heads, cams, and cold air intakes probably won't put the average rice ride even into the 13's. Anywho, mustangs rule our local race scene. The numbers break down something like this; say fifty cars show up at the Roadhouse Cafe on saturday night- 10-15 of them will be mustangs (mostly fox body and sn-95), ten or twelve chevelles, five or so 71' to 79' camaros,a few gto's/ cutlasses, three or four will be V-8 S-10's, six or seven mopars, one or two ricers, a couple of vettes and maybe a 4X4. Rice is big here, but when the big dogs show up, you can't hear the ricer's fart pipes over the sound of all the duel-exaust flowmasters.

Yeah it definetely takes more money to make a ricer fast than it does for a mustang. they usually start with less than 200 horse and no torque, in a engine less than half the size of a mustangs.

haha...yea most imports start at way less than 200, civics are like 140-150hp, i forget exactly. But one 4-banger, the prelude actually pulls off 200hp stock, which is rather impressive for stock. I don't understand why so many people like ricers so much, i mean damn...they sound like lawn mowers when they come down the street.

I don't think there's really anything wrong with a 11 or 10 sec ricer, I just think it's stupid when someone takes a stock econobox, plasters it with stickers, spoilers and has a chainsaw exhaust.
Hope I didn't offend any mustang owners |

Imports and stangs are pretty much equal here in MO. You see them everywhere especially on the weekends

Hmm, here in s.a. there is lots of stangs, but lots of mti ls1's as well, lotta the fast stangs around are guys that take care of them, plus there is performance shops around here that specialize in late model mustangs, but the owners of most of those shops have 9 second fox bodies.
plenty of 10 sec ls1s around, most sent to houston for mti work, and stroked and blow, its crazy, it takes a pure mustang loving, engine building, dog to run a stang with those blown ls1's. definately dont see as many fox bodies as i used too, but thats gonna happen, i still see more stangs around then anything, although the imports are thick in these scenes.

Typically we go out on Saturday nights. I haven't been out lately since my my tires suck @$$. I spin in 2nd all the time. See, that is what $800 tires gets you.

Where I live i have about 3 or 4 mustangs just on my street. Every where you look there are mustangs . It is cool to know that I live in a place not YET infected with Rice burners.
It all depends on how expensive the Stangs are where your from. I know that here a 90 5.o is around $4500- $5500 Canadian. Neways gotta go bye NIK

I live in NY. In the summertime you see the full range of cars. But in the winter, all you see is riceburners. all the same, the little things people do to imports, while they are cheap, don't amount to 15 horsepower (real world, according to them a billet oil cap adds 50 HP). They have to add a big turbo and a weedwacker exhaust to make it keep with a stock stang. These things alone cost 5 or 6 grand. never mind all the other things they need to add to make it run right. Every ricer claims to be a 12 second car, but the only true 12 second ricers are usually talon's and eclipse's. then you add tons of money, and the civics break in. by that time, if you had dumped this money into a mustang, you'd be in the 8's.

Mostly fox's rule around here. Although 4th gen camaros (both LT1 and LS1 are gaining popularity). Talons are also becoming popular with the ricers gaining in popularity but not really mattering.

the other day...i saw something pretty funny. I saw a 2000 v6 mustang with a fart pipe. Im not dissin v6 mustangs cause i got one, i just think its hilarious that a kid would put a fart pipe on a mustang...i mean why????lol. The funniest part was when he turned it on, lol. I was about to cry i was laughing so hard. He had all the performance stickers on his windows and everything. But to me it sounded just like the stock 3.8 it had in it w/o any mods or anything.

Dont see many LS-1's or LT-1's in Fayetteville. Well nowhere near as many Mustangs put it that way.
There are alot of Stangs flying around here, and out of all of those, probably 25 percent of them hangout at the parking lot with us. Fox Body's use to be the majority out here, but the 99+ cars seem to be taking over. First started out as me and Tim C being the only ones with them at the parking lot, now we have like 10 out there. About the same amount of Fox Body's. There might be one of two more of them. There a handfull of 94-98 body style regulars that show up. The only LS-1's that hang out with us are the FireBird people...........I'm kinda glad they came out there now! We only get two or three Camaros on an average night. On a busy night, maybe 5-7 of them. As far as racing goes, if you catch a light next to a domestic, its usually a Mustang here. Very rarely a Camaro, although we go out hunting for them.
