Thats strange, I've had my 97 cbr 900 up to 180 many times and I weigh 213lbs. I had a few mods but nothing huge. Those are some nice stats you have there but not all bikes and conditions are the same in the real world. [This message has been edited by WADS56 (edited 08-09-2001).] |
Yeah nice stats they are huh? So your saying you've been clocked at 180mph on your 97 CBR900? It is strange my digital speedo on my 2000 R1 said 191mph, doesn't mean it can go that fast. Speedos are way off, especially on bikes at that speed. A 99 Busa will read up to 220mph on the speedo, but does that mean a busa can really do 220mph, nope, 190-196 for the early models, the new ones are 186mph. It's pretty funny that you say nice stats, bet your 900 wouldn't break 170mph. All the R1's around here are clocking 170-174mph, I have a slip-on and that's it, if your so sure your 97 CBR900(alot heavier, less hp than an R1)will do 180mph, I challenge you to do a top speed run with me, and I'm positive I won't lose, but you can do 180! Oh wait I can do 191mph! WTF man. LoL =P Later guys.

Thank you for leting me in on the secret about the spedo thing. I am friends with a cop and he clocked me doing 153 while my spedomiter saidabout 148-149. I have had it pegged after that and so did my friend, and that reads 185. So I am guessing 180 because of the spedo error give or take a few mph. I have raced many R1's on the track and country roads. On the quarter mile I always won, out on the country roads it's about 50/50. All I have is cams, pipe, jet kit, and filter. Those little mods still shouldn't be enough to take the mighty R1 right??

Sportbike speedos are notoriously inaccurate, But I like to tell people I've been 170 on the ninja anyways! They think I'm nuts! http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/smile.gif http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/tongue.gif
It's all in fun man, whether it's 20 mph off or 5 mph off, you're still hauling some serious *** ! http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/smile.gif Have fun!! No, not quite. Nice mod's and all, but sorry.
You might be pushing a lil over 120rwhp. Still down about 14hp and alot of torque. Yeah I know it's all in fun, but someone saying that there bike will do 180, and me knowing it WON'T. Seriously if you had a cop as a friend why didn't you just top it out? =P What was 1/4 time by the way? Later. |

Fox,
Sweet. I had no idea what that was. Unfortunately, my days of high speed internet connections have drawn to a close. I moved out of the appartments on campus which had dedicated lines to each building (OC3 lines... I think that's what they had...anyway, they're upgrading). Downloads with DA rock. Now I'm back on telephone dial-up. If I ever get back up on a fast connection, I'll post some more videos....I've got tons of cool stuff. --nathan ------------------ --silver_pilate '91 GT, Built 306, Wolverine 1087 cam, ported Windsor Jr. Irons, and all the goodies...click the link to the left to see a full list of my mods... Cool silver, post away man.
I think I'll be going to dial up soon too b/c my brother says he ain't gonna pay for the cable service anymore and if I pay for it, that money will take away from building my Mustang. ------------------------------------------------------- 351W-powered 1979 Ford Mustang notchback Stock 5.8L under 4" cowl, C4 w/ shift kit Holley 750 cfm, Edelbrock Performer RPM intake 1 5/8" MAC shorty headers, Al driveshaft 2.5" Off road H-pipe, 2-chamber Flowmasters Front: 225/60/15, Rear: 255/60/15 Eagle GT II Weld wheels (15x6;15x8), 8.8" Rear w/ 3.55s 14 x 4” K&N air filter (getting the Xtreme setup someday) http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/cool.gif "Red, thou art my companion.
