Thumbs up Going To Be Published! Kinda.

it's not much at all, but I just received word that Underhood Magazine, a major trade publication in the automotive repair world, wants to use my input for a feature they call "What are your Top 5 Tools". They will include a picture of myself, best buddy Dave, and Jim Porter (Sprint car driver I we crew for) all standing in front of his car earlier this year. It will be in the December edition. Should be cute, and certainly won't hurt business, especially during what is traditionally the slowest time of the year.

Take care,
~Chris

Default Congratulations!

It's about time you get some recognition for all that damn knowledge you have! Hopefully you get some business out of it, or at least some sort of publicity for the Ventura Raceway. Congrats, Keith

That's okay James, that was actually pretty funny.

I don't see it being more than a paragraph or two, but Keith is right in that it may help the track in some way.

Thanks folks!

Take care,
~Chris

Congrats, Chris.

It's always good to get recognition.

If all goes as planned in our research, watch out for my name in print in the next couple of years. Only, it'll be a little more dull...something along the lines of The Effects of Sports Specific Fatigue on Dominant Arm Glenohumeral Joint Proprioception in Trained and Un-trained Male Individuals.

Keep a close eye out in Journal of Orthopaedic and Sport Physical Therapy or Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation or the like.

Nah, I couldn't narrow down the 12 I have.

My top 5 are:

1) Fluke 88 Automotive Meter.

This meter is any auto tech's best friend. It's accuracy and
features make electrical testing and diagnostics a breeze.

2) Ingersoll Rand IR3121 1/2" Impact Wrench.

I love this impact because of it's strength and light weight. It's
easy to maneuver and control in tight places.

3) DeWalt DW997 18 Volt Cordless Drill.

I find myself using this drill everyday, for both drilling
functions, and as a 1/4" driver. Very handy for times when a cord or air
hose would get in the way.

4) OTC Mindreader 3750 Scan Tool w/ OBDII Upgrade.

This is a very user friendly, inexpensive scan tool that I use all
the time. The OBDII upgrade also allows me to view the data stream for
OBDI Ford EEC IV vehicles.

5) Silverline Mityvac Vacuum Pump.

It's just your basic hand vacuum pump, but in my opinion, it's
priceless. It also makes testing and diagnostics a breeze.

Take care,
~Chris

Here is my deconstruction of your list, number by number.

1. There real fluke is that jerk off that drives #88. Doesn't he know what a spring is?

2. Just plain kissing Cams arse.

3. The 997 is too much drill. Should have picked the Makita 14v NiMi. (sorry old Depot flashback)

4. Mind reader? OB1cano what? This ain't starwars you fruit!

5. Vacuum pump? What are you a woman, and don't those go in the house?

Seriously though, congrats. You should try to slip in the benefit of having a local raceway to shake down the sprint car motor on. Its a tool for sure, helping you hone diagnosing on the fly, and quicker solutions to problems.

Sweeeetness !!

Congrats. Chris, let's just hope they don't put the picture from your licence on that article. I don't believe I get the magazine either so you'll have to post some pictures for us. You've got enough knowledge probably to write that whole magazine so it's about time they let you write something.
