Dallas is now home

Well guys, I now call Dallas home. Sure is a lot warmer than Canada. People seem real nice and there are way more cool cars here.

If I could only get my flipping car running right http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/mad.gif

Hey, how much is gas down there, I've been hearing reports that its less than $1.30/ gallon for 87 octane. You should've moved to Kamloops for a summer so you wouldn't have as big of a shock when the heat hits in late July http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/wink.gif Just remember to fly the maple leaf on sunday (Canada day-in case they brainwashed you at the border http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/wink.gif), not to mention this is probably going to be the first Canada day long weekend in years that the weather's gonna cooperate for. Oh well, can you get Canadian beer down there? It'll probably be cheaper down there than what we have to pay for it here http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/mad.gif Oh well, good luck, hope you can take advantage of the cheaper prices for performance parts and I hope your car starts feeling better, perhaps converting to an earlier computer may be in order, there seems to be troubles with the 94-95 computers lately.

The Cheapest that I saw gas was $1.14 a gallon. That was in Oklahoma though. The cheapest that I've seen that gas aroung here is about $1.42.

I've been thinking about getting a big Canadian flag and hanging it in my apartment. Can't go too crazy down here I'm along way from the border http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/smile.gif

The one thing that blows my mind here is the heat. I've been to Kamloops 2 dozen times, during the summer, winter, fall, spring, it is not half as hot as it is here. I'm cooking already and it's still not the hot season yet!

The car is running fine right now. Really confuses me. I'm going to have to keep an eye on it.

Hey 95mustanggt,

just curious; how long are you living in Texas before going back to Canada? It was a work move wasn't it?

red82gt 07-05-2001 02:38 PM

95mustanggt, you still haven't answered me, Can you get Canadian Beer down there?

So far I'll be here for another 11 months. But as I am being trained as a specialist in my field (rock drilling), and my Company's factory is in Garland, I could be here either a lot longer or returning again from Canada in the future

Sort of. It's actually kind of weird. Canadian beer is considered "import" beer. The selection is limited though. I've seen no Molson Canadian, Kokanee, etc. I have seen Blue, though. Not much else now that I think of it.

Texas beer is pretty good though. Better than some of the other beer in states like Utah. Atleast it's still 5%.

Last year when I was down at Yellowstone National Park there was Molson Golden, heck we haven't been able to get that in Canada for years, yet it said "imported from Canada" on the botle!

Yup, I went out to this one bar last night with Hammer and there was Molson Golden on the list of "import beers". It said that it was from Calgary, AB. LOL, I didn't even bother to try it. And of course Labatt blue was on the menu.
