I bought a house!
looks like I'm gonna have to act like an adult sometime soon. I'm graduating on saturday the 29th with a bachelors in mechanical engineering from Rose Hulman Institute of Technology, and next monday, I'm moving into my brand NEW house. My closing was today, so its official
I landed a job at a biomedical device company in Bloomington, In. And since I didn't want to throw anymore money down the drain by living in an apartment (like the past 3 years of college), I wanted to buy a house instead. The first thing I saw when I looked at the house was the garage, which is 24x28', so that sold me right away. The rest of the house was just a bonus anyway, I'm just real excited about owning a house at 22 years of age, and thought I'd share. I'll attach some pictures of today's final walkthrough -Drew

Congradulations Drew!!
There's nothing like being a home owner! I see a nice garage, recessed lighting, and hardwood floors....not too shabby for your first home Did you look at alot of homes before finding the current one? Last year when I bought my house, I must have looked at 25+ with my realtor before finding what I wanted. Again, congradulations on the gorgeous home! I hope it treats you well!

wow, thanks guys
Dan, I looked at about 10 houses, before deciding on this one. I was driving down there every weekend for a month and a half before I found this one, and I caught it at a perfect time, when it was about 3/4 finished. This meant I could make small changes and I got to pick out carpet, cabinets, and wall colors myself. I also had him run a couple 220 outlets in the garage for a future welder and big compressor. He even added in a few things I wasn't suspecting, like a hose faucet in the garage right by the driveway, and he ran every room in the house with cat5 ethernet ports, pretty cool

Get out the lawnmower fire up the vacuum cleaner!!! Looks really nice. Like the drive and the large garage. Looks like a big lot too!
First house I bought was built in the 1860's a real fixer upper but it was cheap and big. At least on the new one you will just need to maintain after buying the blinds, dishes, beds, some grass seed, etc. Is it a 2 bedroom or three? Congrats!!

Nice house I wanted to buy one this year but with the little Iraq trip uncle sam gave me the funds are not there. So I bought a new mustang and will try for a house next year. I told my wife she can pick out the mouse but I have to aprove the garage. Pretty wierd huh I would live in a shack if it had a huge nice garage. Oh well it is a nice house good find
