I believe the engines in trucks are the 302s and the mustang engines are the 302 HO (or 5.0). The only real engine difference is the cam base circle which is smaller on the 302 (the 5.0 shares the 351W base circle diameter). The truck intakes face the opposite direction of the 5.0s, the headers are different, and a different cam/firing order. The Mustangs with E7TE heads actually borrowed those from trucks. The letter "T" means they were originally designed for a truck line and "E7" means 1987. So Mustangs got some truck head designed in 1987. Weird, huh?
