Very easy to work on. Alot easier to work on than the 4.6s are. The LS1 is closer to the 5.0 than the LT1 for working under the hood. Even spaced exhaust ports and more space between the fenders (taller motor gets the heads alittle further away from the fender wells) makes things easier. I've done 4.6 SOHC head swaps and longtubes on a 4.6 DOHC. The LS1 is alot easier to do major mods on. Hell, you don't have to pull the intake off to do a cam. Pull the pushrods and yank the old cam out, in with the new.
