Talking Drop top guys !!! Top care Question

What kind of cleaner should I use on the top?
My top is covered with a moldy tree resedue from being parked under a tree for 18 months. ( No, I didn't abandon my Girl for that long, the top is from a parts car) The top is black, and in sweet shape, other than the mold on the outside.
Any tips on top care would be cool! This is my first rag top.

Thanks Eh! Big.

Well I have never tried to get a moldy tree residue off of my top, but 409 is what I use to clean it generally. It works great for me.

I have a 92 with a white top (aka pain in the @$$). Kitchen/bathroom mildew removers are about the only thing I have found that works.

Recently somebody ripped my top apart to steal my stereo. Insurance got me a new top, and it barely looked any better than my 8 year old top.

Here's the trick:
Wash the top with soap an dwater when you wash your car
Get a dry sponge, and armor all the heck out of the sponge
wipe it evenly on to the top

Especially if your top is black, this method keeps it looking brand new.

93GTDIN...... Hey,Hey,Hey!!!!!!!!! Go outside right now and take some soap and water and wash all the "Armour All" of your poor car before the sun gets to it!!!! Armour all is the worst thing for your top, next to acid rain!!!!!!! The armour all will dry the #$% out of your top and it will become dry and brittle! The only stuff you can use is "Auto Glym" or a protectant that is not peroleum based!
