Does anyone here know Matt Reif of Schaumburg, Ill? Read on.

The guy says his name is Matt Reif and he says he lives at 122 Stirling Lane, Apt X2, Schaumburg, Ill. 60195. His phone number is (630) 816-9901 and it is a cell phone.

Several weeks ago he offered to buy my MAC 1 5/8 longtube headers. I talked to him several times on the phone (have my phone bill to prove it and several taped conversations) and he seemed like a honest, straightforward guy. My headers had been used for 4 years and were worn, but still very useable so I offered to send them to him (UPS still have the slip) and have him pay me the shipping and price of the headers ($75) if he wanted to buy them, after looking them over, otherwise he was to just send them back.

Well, several days went by after he recieved the headers and I heard no word from him or replies to my messages on his answering machine. I finally got a hold of him last week and he seemed a bit surprised, like he forgot that he had my headers and now was talking to me....screening his calls. He said he just got back from a bowling trip out in California and would get back to me that evening after he looked over the headers. Well guess what? He never got back to me and is not returning my calls.

Does anyone on this site know him? He initially said he worked in a Pizza place in Bensenville as well. I don't know if he is as student or not. If anyone has any information or dealings with this guy, please post it here.

Now first of all, I realize I was wrong trusting this turd and now am going to have to take legal action to get MY stolen goods back. It hardly seems worth it, however, the thought of this happening and him thinking he is going to skate by will be my motivator to track him like a dog. He has NO idea who he is messing with.

Matt, or whoever you are, YOUR NOT GOING TO GET AWAY WITH THIS! Dude, I am not like others on this site who may let people slide. I keep notes and am persistant. You WILL send me my money or headers this week (by Friday) or else your going to have a load of trouble on your hands. It is going to rain down on you from all sides....I promise you.

I've got several relatives in IL...I'll give them a much avoided phone call tonight to see if they know the guy. Do you know what model stang he has? Fox? etc etc. What a scumbag...I hope he rots in hell. His little stunt just made me phone up a guy I'm selling a shifter to, and changing our money order deal to COD. Thanks to sh!theads like this, now the nice ones out there have to be inconveienced. Hope you find and beat his sorry azz.

FYI: If you seek police intervention, do NOT say that you taped the phone conversation. It happens to be a crime as well.

You should contact the FBI since it is a Federal crime. The transaction took place over a state line.

A tap is illegal. This was a phone recording, not a tap. It is submissable in court as far as I know.

Are you sure about that? The total cost of the headers and shipping would of been $90 dollars. If your sure, I will definetly talk with them too. Or atleast ask the Schaumberg police too. Thanks

The size of the crime doesn't matter. The exchange was done over state lines. If he's ripped off numerous people that you don't know about, his crime is worse although you're only a small part of it.

It's likely mail fraud for starters. Using UPS doesn't matter. They're a legal mail carrier along with Fed Ex and other carriers.
