Dollar bill changer trick

I've never tried it but I heard that if you soak a dollar bill in salt water and insert it into a bill changer that it messes up the inside somehow and dumps the entire load of quarters.
Has anyone ever tried this or heard of this?

tireburner163 12-01-2002 05:41 PM

sounds bogus to me...

Hammer 12-01-2002 06:13 PM

If that was true, there'd be lots of rich people down by the beach!!!

Crazy Horse GT 12-01-2002 06:32 PM

a guy at work used to bulid them, he said if you dump salt water in there, it does work, even though, i dont advise it.

A few years ago. I walked in to a laundry mat and saw quarters pouring out of the machine. People were grabbing money left and right(it was at night). I was there when the cops came and I heard the one cop say "Looks like someone hot boxed the bill changer"
The man who owned the place said that they can hold up to $1200 in quarters.
He lost about $600 that night and nobody was caught because there were no cameras installed at the time.
I later heard that salt water is used to do that.
I didn't know if that was true or not so I posted it here.
There are a lot of little tricks like that they don't want people to know...........for obvious reasons.

As someone who lives by the beach, I've never seen this happen with a soaked dollar. Don't believe everything you hear.

Hmm... maybe when I'm feelin' rich I'll try it. lol The lowest nomination of bills we have now are $5's. Although that probably works out to an American $1 bill anyway. ;)

§am.

It might be me, but, I think there are other websites that talk about ripping off people, places, and or objects.

Im not pointing fingers or calling anyone any names, but stealing is stealing and a thief is a thief.

Putting a soaked dollar in a machine is the same to me as having my car, cars stolen. Or having my front door kicked in and my house ransacked.

This thread has seriously disturbed me and I wish it gone.

My $.02

Let me repeat myself... I DIDN'T TRY THIS TRICK. I WAS JUST ASKING IF ANYONE HAS HEARD OF IT OR NOT.
I never said it wasn't wrong!!

Crazy Horse GT 12-02-2002 12:40 AM

i think this thread needs to be deleted, i am calling the coca cola co. in the morning, this is b.s. if you gotta steal, just ask if i got 20.00 you can borrow, let me know. what have we come to here, are we no better than the bling, bling, gold grill - gold teeth , people who steal our tax dollar's on the first of every month.    if i made anyone mad, excuse me, pm me & cuss me out. l8ter.

StangFlyer 12-02-2002 01:39 AM

mustangII460 is correct in the fact that doing this would be theft. 82 GT has stated he wasn't asking in an attempt to steal himself from a coin machine and I don't think anyone here is accusing him of doing so. Reading the original post I don't think he intended any harm in posting this, however, I would say this isn't exactly the kind of thing we want to be a topic of discussion on MW. So, therefore, I'm closing this thread. I trust everyone will understand and go on to better topics... Thank you.
