Question Door handle help

My plastic door handle broke over the winter (outside door handle) and I recently bought a metal replacement. Anyways I looked at my broken one (that's still connected to my door) and it looks like I have to drill it out maybe?

Has anyone replaced the door handle before? I have no clue what to do. Walking around my car and opening the passenger door has gotten to be pretty anoying not to mention embarrasing.

I didn't get any parts at all with my door handle. Just the door handle itself. So I was wondering if I needed to buy some rivets screws or what. Any help would be great.

Drill the rivets out and go visit the bolt section at the parts store. Find two nuts and bolts that are about 3/4 of an inch long. Can't remember the diameter of the bolts but it needs to fit easily through the holes on the new door handle. Don't forget to pick up a little bottle of lock tite so they don't back out.
