Looks like I'll be buying a MM&FF mag to check the article out.

I'll believe it when I see it.

Mercury 05-26-2001 04:50 PM

If its true, I'll be putting all three of my stangs in the paper FOR SALE, that is after I change my underwear. http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/biggrin.gif

If its true, looks like Ford is finally getting the picture.

Not Very Likely Ford would Build Such a Vehicle. http://pages.prodigy.net/egboks/bsflag.gif

If they really do this then i'd better hurry up and finish school so I can buy one!

I thought Ford would've made a drag-pack focus or somthing dumb like that.

yes it is true I have read the article. But I don't think that ford builds them. It's some tuner company. Who cares about that, though, it's a drag pak!!

If I remember correctly it's a specific ford DEALERSHIP that makes these... I think they do have a warranty and stuff though but can't remember....

------------------
92 AOD GT, K&N, ram air, pulleys, 2 ch. flowmasters, 4:10's, shift kit, 1 5/8 mac longtubes and offroad hpipe 14.249 @ 97.34 mph before the headers and hpipe

red82gt 05-27-2001 01:11 PM

It probably is a dealership offering this. Ford wouldn't take a liability risk that big.

91evilstang 05-27-2001 01:42 PM

Oops sorry guys I just skimmed that article and got the "important" stuff out of it(how much horse and what goodies)and i am sorry to say i was mistaken that FORD isnt makeing these a company called Pauls high preformance and a spesific dealership is producing these but they are still mighty cool.sorry about any confusion.I would still like to see how much they are.

Sounds like EXACTLY how every Mustang GT should come from the factory.

My buddy is taking delivery of his '01 on Wednesday. Lizard King, he's the same guy who rolled his 'Notch duking it out with a WS6 a couple of weeks ago - he's looking forward to meeting you http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/smile.gif

LincoConti87 05-29-2001 10:41 AM

I'm pretty sure the drag pak ford offered on the older mustangs was just something like a tachometer and a couple other pretty small things...how could you get confused with this?

Mercury 05-29-2001 12:00 PM

The drag pack ford offered on the older cars, like the 69-70 Mustangs was alot more than a Tach and small stuff.

The rear gear was usually kicked up to 4.10's or higher, there were also heavy duty Tranny and Oiler coolers, suspension pieces, traction bars, I believe also Sub Frames.

There werent any engine mods in ways of performance, but the chassis and durability of the cars and engines were tweaked heavily (well considering the time period).

Oh and they also added a tach. http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/biggrin.gif

Drag pack???? PFPBT! I want a road-race pack.....oh wait, that would be the 55k cobra r!

lx mike 05-30-2001 05:08 PM

It on page 50 of the july issue of Muscle Mustangs Mag, says the stage 2 has run a 12.93 at 105.91mph.

Mustang92 05-31-2001 05:48 AM

I'm not at all impressed by the stage 2 car. I was at the NMRA race in Reynolds and it was running there. I'm sorry but for what it has (blower, auto, DR's) it should go much quicker than it did. The MPH is very low as well. I lined up against him in qualifying and had seen the blower in the pits. I figured this guy would walk by me. It never happened.

To be honest both of these are over priced in my opinion. I've added the price up for parts and I could build the same car for much cheaper. If you have to pay for the work it might still come in cheaper than paying their premium. Of course I may be a little baised since my car runs quicker than both Stage 1 and 2 with less work and much much cheaper price tag.
