Thumbs up Drove an original Smokey and the Bandit Trans Am today!

My boss owns one of the 1977 Trans Ams used in the Smokey and the Bandit movies. She bought it from an auction Burt Reynolds had quite a few years ago. Still has the certificate of authenticity. It has been sitting in storage for a few years, and she brought it out to be touched up, after sitting so long. She knows I'm a car nut and threw me the keys! I took it for a spin, and I loved it! I've always loved those cars. The feel of that huge 6.6 liter engine, and the noises that came from the exhaust and tires, when the pedal was mashed to the floor was quite a rush! I know my Stang would beat it, it's so much heavier than my car, but it still has such nice torque and serious balls! I want it... She's selling it, any donations send to me!! I'll take you all for a ride! Here are some pics of it:

That is too cool! What is she asking for it? Better yet, do you know what she paid at the auction for it?

Those are great pics.

THAT is WAY TOOO COOL!!!! I love those movies. I remember when they first came out. Note the big CB antenna! Is the CB still in it???? GREAT PICS. I'd buy that in a heartbeat(even though its not a FORD!)
I'm curious too, how much did SHE pay, and how much is she asking? How many miles are on it? Does it have an 8 track or cassette?

I believe she is asking 10,000 for it(not sure), she will be listing it on e-bay soon. The original Stereo is gone and was replaced with an Alpine and the cb is gone too. I'm sure it still needs some tlc, But yeah, even though it's not a Ford, It was a cool thing!

The only TV/Movie car I would take over The Bandit's car is the General Lee. I would love to have them both though. And a couple of Stangs too!

That is probably my dream garage. A 5.0 GT Mustang, a 69 Charger with full Dukes paint job and the cow-plow on front, a 79 trans am smokey and the bandit car, and a new stang. Oh yeah, and a new bigass jacked up F-350. I mean a 10 inch+ lift kit with 44 inch swampers on it. Not some pu$$y 4-inch lift kit. Now that would be a dream garage, for me anyway.

I love the shaker scoops and the big screaming chickens on those cars.

Cool or not, those cars were not very good cars. They were low powered, had many squeaks and rattles, and were late 70's GM.

MY friends girlfreind had a 79' T/A back when I was in high school(mid 80's). We used to cruise to the drive in theatre in it, which was fun. And she used to keep it real clean. A cool car, yes, but I think she finally got rid of it because it basically fell apart.
