Default How bad could this have been

I hadn't changed my spark plugs for about 10 months and when I changed them today I found that one of my spark plug wire boots was completely burnt through.

It was actually holding together by maybe 3 centimeters. The car actually still drove okay but lacked power.

How much of a hp loss do you think this would have caused???

I've probably been running on 7 cylinders for months and never knew...

Well I would say that had ALOT to do with your low hp &tq numbers. Man it would be great if that was your problem.

I agree that your numbera are very low. I would think your engine should be making around 280-300 rwhp. But who knows, that's just my $.02

I hope you guys were right...

The dyno numbers I got were from about 3 months ago and the wire was already probably messed up then...

I can't afford to get it dynoed again right not so I'm gonna go to the track in a few weeks. Hopefully there's a big drop in my E.T.

Plus I have some DRs that I haven't used yet.

Thanks,

Tony

put some new wires on it and go for a drive, if its been running on 7 cyls the whole time, when it fires on all 8 your jaw is gonna drop.
