Quick Dumb HP question
This is to just resolve an on-going argument between a friend of mine. He has always been a Mustang guy..big time. He knows all sorts of crap about them..mostly the classics, seeing as he owns a 65 289 3 speed auto. Now...he has always been the Ford guy, I the Chevy, so I know not to try to mess with him on Ford issues..but I have to disagree with him here.
On Fox-Body GT's, he claims the 5.0 HO engine makes 235 hp at the REAR WHEELS, and 285 at the fly. I think it's actually 235 at the fly... Which one of us is right? PS-Even if I show him this he won't believe me..too damn stubborn..but at least I'll know I'm right, which is ALMOST as gratifying as proving him wrong.

yup, the 87-92 makes 225, the 93 was rated at 215. I think they are rated at 280 or 290 ft/lbs of torque so maybe he got his numbers mixed up. The 93 cobra was rated at 235hp, though people say it was underrated.

Not asking would have been dumb, My pappy used to say, "hard head totes a sore a55" Enjoy the argument, it's healthy.

True..nothing wrong with a good argument now and then..I just hate em. I get to mad about it. Guess I'm stubborn too.

I wouldn't mind if the stock motor in my '91 fox could put 235 on the ground! Heck it's more like 175 at the rear wheels! Still fun as hell to drive. One day....
