The car is in mint condition, and i picked it up off my dads friend. i am not to good with engines, so i was curious. I have flow masters, stock intake, 5.0, gt short throw shifter, a realllllyy stiff clutch, a add-in cam..(not sure what kind of cam,but postive itsnot stock, but when car idles, it rumbles..then resets sounds like, and starts over.) how much horse do you think i have. i really dont konw..

![]() Sorry man, with out any more info it is kind of hard to tell.
I think a stock 88 GT had 205HP, then if you add a cam you might get 10-15 more HP, and the mufflers probably won't make any kind of difference (a couple hourse at the most). Now if you have an H-pipe or X-pipe, that will change things you might get another 15-20HP again. Hard to say, with just the cam maybe 200 RWHP (rear wheel horse power)? ------------------ 1995 Mustang GT |

![]() The stock 1988 GT was rated at 225hp. I really doubt it has a cam. With the mods you've listed, you're probably looking at somewhere in the neighborhood of stock hp.
You should have speed density, the earlier form of fuel injection on the 5.0HO SEFI Mustangs. It is more aggressive and makes more power than the MAF cars that followed. |
