Eminem the best rapper??

Who here likes Eminem?? I think he's a good rapper..just don't like his ways. I like his new song. It's pretty bad. I usually have the dually rockin goin to work in the morning with his cd.lol

PKRWUD 06-12-2002 07:43 PM

I thought "Best Rapper" was an oxymoron.

Take care,
-Chris

srv1 06-12-2002 07:45 PM

not a big fan of eminem, but i do like a couple of his songs. i saw his video, "without me". i laughed my azs off! haha...the Elvis on the toilet got me rollin'!:D

Hammer 06-12-2002 07:46 PM

God I'm old....

I remember days when there was NO rap, and you had to wait in line to buy a Kenner Millenium Falcon... ;)

Whenever I hear a song from Abba, I have scary 70's flashbacks... (some of the worst music ever made was during the 70s)
Those who lived during that time wouldn't be wearing bellbottoms or platform shoes nowadays...

Eric4Nitrous 06-12-2002 07:52 PM

srv1, yeah that part is hilarious. He's a pretty funny guy. He's a lyrical genius that's for sure.

7up 06-12-2002 08:09 PM

I like eminems new cd too, I don't know if I would say he is the best rapper though. Personally I think Snow was the best rapper of all time followed closely by Vanilla Ice.:D

bawahahahahahha that is so true.

rap music is an oxymoron too. hehe. Even though outkast is kinda cool because the guy has a cool voice *nick slaps his head and wonders why her likes it*

MustangKelly96 06-12-2002 08:24 PM

On a side note:
Eminem's purple Stang is for sale.

I like Eminem too but it seems like his songs get old really quick. When I first hear them I love them, but much of his old stuff that I used to love I can't listen to now. But, If I am in a rap mood, I can still put in some Snoop or Dre and it doesn't matter how old it is, I still love a lot of their stuff.

tireburner163 06-12-2002 10:22 PM

It gets old fast. Plus he has some funky *** bass lines that I don't like.

Awesome! informer and ice ice baby are to this day 2 of my favorites!!! Just can't listen to them in public... ;)

Mustangbelle306 06-13-2002 05:48 AM

I like Eminem alot...he doesn't talk about bitchez, hoez, and selling crack while rollin' on lorenzos, etc.

He just says whatever the heck he feels like, and political correctness be damned! Also, he doesn't just steal old riffs from 80s rap, he does wacky stuff. Oh yeah, and he doesn't have any gold teef! ;)

But $100,000 for his car? I dunno if his fans are THAT loaded lol :D The Kenneth Kaniff from Konnecticut bit on the first album still cracks me up!

kiku2sleep 06-13-2002 06:39 AM

Some of his songs are ok. He is by far not the best rapper though. I am not the biggest "rap" fan; there is too much crap out there. Especially now that southern rap is popular. I like more underground hip hop, and every now and the kick some old school ****.

89 Cobra LX 06-13-2002 07:24 AM

I like Eminem a lot, but I don't like his last album nearly as much as his first two. Dr Dre was more involved in the studio on the first two albums....and it shows.

LX XLR8R 06-13-2002 10:14 AM

i thought EZ-E was the man..kidding...yea eminem rules espicially if your hate women(ex or someth9ng amunst those lines) ..cuz his music makes that much more sence then..ok ill go reitire to my hole now:D

I don't like a lot of the Southern stuff either, but what do you think about Outkast? They are probably my favorite group out there right now. Both their old and new stuff is tight.

The Fireman 06-13-2002 02:00 PM

Is Eminem the best rapper? Oh yeah he is.:D

1969Mach1 06-13-2002 02:26 PM

I am not sure about best rapper? Do you consider freestylers rappers cause I've heard some really good ones. I must say I'll vote him for the best lyrics. He tells the truth, and calls it how he see's them. He reminds me of myself but I'm alot less then him, just more the part where I say what I feel, I'm very blunt with what I feel. I must say alot of his lyrics make me laugh, and his videos are even funnier. :D
Yeh Snow and Vanilla Ice Kick a**, aswell as MC Hammer! Hammer Time is the best. =)

Skyman 06-13-2002 03:53 PM

Eminem is #1, no need to explain why. If you like it you do, if you dont, goto hell. haha, j/k.

Sky

StoplightWarrior 06-13-2002 04:08 PM

Why are we even having this discussion??

2Pac and Biggie are the best, hands down.

Eminem is popular right now, but he will not be regarded as classic once his time is up.

7up 06-13-2002 08:00 PM

If you can count dead rappers my vote goes to 2Pac. If we are talking living breathing rappers I have to go for Snoop.

snoop dogg is ok, his older stuff is good.

Beastie boys- white guys with a style their own, check out in the in sound from way out-chill lounge music, licence, pauls boutique, ill comm..

RATM- lyrics with passion, killer guitar work an Godfathers to the current rap rock trend.

eminem- revolutionary, talented, provacative, throws no curves, makes ya think. we need him.

Me too, and yes there is!!

I love seeing the little white prep school girls driving around in Mommy's Landcruiser or Lexus blasting some kind of ghetto death rap  That's got to be the stupidest thing I've ever seen...DAILY!

Personally, I try to listen to music that sends a message that I can relate to, not just what's going to make me "look cool/hard". I've never slapped a hoe, or bought a set of Dubz, or had to "keep it real for the streetz, yo", or "need a big ol azz", therefore I rarely listen to the new crap.

Alot of old school rap is funny, like MC Ren and "FTP", Run DMC, etc etc

digital3.3 06-14-2002 11:38 AM

Eminem is funny but like some earlier posts said it does get old fast cause you hear it about every 5 minutes, but it is funny. but i like more rascalz, swollen members and outkast though.

Skyman 06-14-2002 01:30 PM

Outcast is cross dressing sissy music. :-D

Skyler

PKRWUD 06-14-2002 03:08 PM

C'mon Sky, don't beat around the bush, tell 'em what you really think!!!

:)

Take care,
-Chris

Heeh, that a good one!:)

I always liked Humpty Hump and the digital underground, the Humpty dance IS the trace!:D So do the hump!:)

What about Rick Slick, "Lotti Dotti we like to party, we don't cause trouble... we don't bother nobody."

Ok, that's about all I know about rap... :D

Humpty is awesome. 2pac was actually in Digital Underground when he first started out. I don't know if y'all remember "Same Song". It was in that bad movie with Chevy Chase, Demi Moore and Dan Akroyd where they get trapped in some podunk town in Jersey and are held captive by a local sheriff for speeding. Digital Underground is arrested too along with 2pac and they play for the Sheriff The Same Song. Best part of the movie.

rbatson 06-15-2002 12:05 AM

That movie was "Nothing but Trouble" and I've seen it more than a few times. The part where they stop Humpty is the best:D
